Full Tilt Problems

I bought my full tilt classics about half way through the season last year and they have been great except for the fact that when i tighten them down the shell digs into my shin and causes pain. It has left an indent in the liner which i assumed is normal. This is primarily with the left boot but sometimes the right. I was just curious if anyone else has had this problem and what i should do to fix it? Thanks

Do you have any footbeds? Your foot may be sitting too low/ pronating meaning your leg is not aligned in the boot. Where exactly on your leg is it tight? How is the pressure on your instep?

If you have to buy footbeds seperately then no, my boots are completely stock, the pressure is concentrated mainly around around the top buckle. there isn't a great amount of pressure on my instep but there is some.

Possibly then your foot is sat too low in the boot. Full tilts don't come with any insole so your foot can end up sitting very low as the liner packs in. Your leg gets wider the higher up you go to the knee so if your sat low, that may be te issue. The boots may also be a little big for you. Or the boot may just be too small round the calf. When you stand straight upright how much pressure is there on your toes. Also how far below your knee is the top of your boot.

Yeah i understand what youre saying, when im standing i can barely feel the front of my boots with my toes and there isnt much pressure on them, and from the top of the liners to the bottom of my knee is almost 7 inches. I am 5'9 and my boots are size 28

Yeah they sound like they are maybe a bit big. Your toes should be right on the end when you stand straight up. What I would think will help is raising your foot up inside. You prob need a foot ed to align you with a heel lift as well. That should raise your leg up out of the boot and the footbed should keep your foot more secure so you may not need to do the boots as tight which may also help.

Take them to a good fitter and see what he can do for you. If they are way to big it may be better to start again though.

I tried a buddy's FTs before I purchased mine - he was about a boot size up from me and I had the exact same pressure/pinch you're describing. I went down a size when I bought mine, and had no issues. It was basically how my foot filled the space, and where my shin and calf were lining up with the shell. As already recommended, a good boot fitter may be able to fill some space, raise your leg and get read of the pressure.
