Full Tilt issues

I'm currently riding the full tilt booters, after about 15 days skiing I'm getting a strong pain in the ankle of the boot that feels like something jabbing at my ankle. But my ankle is completely fine outside the boot so I figured there's a problem wtih the boot. However there does not seem to be anything wrong with the shell of the boot that could be poking at my ankle. Happened to anybody's FTs before? Feedback?

Im not gonna be that guy, because i always hate when 14 year old kids come into a thread bit chin "should got fitted" or "get real boots"

but aside from that, shoulda went to a boot fitter

I have the Twalls, and I had to get the shell grinded on the side...Hard to tell what you prob is. Did you have the liners heat molded? Either way take them to a good boot fitter.

This happend to me before... if your leg is really skiinny like mine was idk it doenst fit right and it hurts but it went away and doesnt happen to me anymore. just wait it out,

takes a while to feel it sometimes. It may feel great in the shop but later on not so great. I'm sure you know this...

Are you wearing tall socks? Tall enough to go well above you're ankles, if I wear short ankle socks they don't go high enough and that creates a slight pressure point. Not sure if that's your problem or not though

Can't tell if looking for advice or just commiseration, but I'll give advice.

Take them to a bootfitter. The first thing they should do is put a C-pad, with sanded (rounded) edges, on the outside of your liner. This will wrap around the part of the liner where your ankle is. It should take some of the shell pressure off your ankle.

If this does not work, a good bootfitting shop will have shell-manipulating equipment and they can blow out your shells a little bit to relieve pressure. They'll go a little at a time, because it's an irreversible process, but that will generally do the trick if all else fails.

its more then lickly the way your foot is sitting in the boot.

Did you get a footbed when you got the boots fitted. If not this should be your first thing to do.

If your foot prontaes in the boot, even if its been heat molded, there will be pressure on the inner ankle from the shell.

Now some bootfitters may just stretch the shell on the inside, and this may help sometimes but its not getting rid of the problem so it wont defiantly help.

If you get a footbed which keeps your foot in a more neutral position if you then need a shell stretch you know it will work as you have controlled the foot first.

Usually I will make a footbed then if they need a slight stretch I will do that for free.

In my opinion Sidas make the best custom footbeds. Expect to pay $150-200

hi, got some similar problem here!

ft booter 11-12 model - last year i had no problems...

this season, after 4 days of hardcore jibbing in xmas holidays =) my left-inner ankle was in pain, but only when i had my boot on. the pressure from the boot itself made it hurt.

after a 2 week pause of skiing, the pain is still there, when i am in my boots. Mostly, after 3 runs, the adrenalin and some herbs take the pain away.

Take em back and explain your issue. It's not uncommon to go back to a boot fitter and have the boot tweaked. I'd go midweek to the shop because on the weekends or toward the end of the week it gets busy. But back to your feet, a simple heel wedge could do the trick, if not you can punch out the shell and or liner.
