Full Tilt Insoles

Yes, another Full Tilt thread. They've kind of died down lately so i thought I would make one.

I bought the Hot Doggers and they came without insoles. I was looking into buying custom insoles like Zapz, which are microwaveable insoles that have a semi-custom fit.

These things

or some sport-like insoles that aren't moldable like these.

What have you guys used for insoles/orthotics in Full Tilts? Should I go to a shop and have them recommend insoles?

go find an old school cobbler shop and have him fit you for insoles. he can usually heat mold some custom ones for you, definitely worth it!

Maybe I'm mistaken but I thought that you weren't supposed to use Full Tilts with insoles since you heat mold them to your foot?

It makes F.T.s fit tighter. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Try some Superfeet in there first before you buy customs to see how the fit will be.

the intuition liners that come with FT claim that you dont need to use a footbed as the foam is so stiff it acts as one but most boot fitters will recommend using a custom footbed to get the complete fit. I experienced this with my intuitions and my footbeds are going in soon.

This.
You can get a trim to feet for fairly inexpensive by superfeet and a custom black (low profile custom footbed) for around $60. They go all the way up to a full cork custom foot bed... but those are a bit pricier and also are a higher volume footbed.
We carried them at the shop I used to work at and they worked wonders and seemed to be reasonably priced in my eyes for as much comfort and support they provide.
You can go to superfeet's website and locate the dealer nearest you... or just call your local shop and chances are they will carry some brand of footbeds and will be able to help you out.

no need to be FT specific.

Personally, I use SOLE footbeds. They can be molded but I didn't, because they keep my foot in the shape is should be in(not the fucked up flatness I have that only adds pain to my achilles tendonitis, hurts my knees and hurts my lower spine because it "distorts" me or something doctorishsounding). Better than $300 customs. I need a thick footbed(so I don't have to use plastic heel lift), so got the most padded ones(still stiff/solid enough to ski) which were SOLE Softec Ultras. Google it! 40ish shipped
