Full Tilt boot fitting advice

Hi guys, I just bought K2 Revolver TW pros (upgrading from my Salomon boot) and trying to get these to work.

it currently feels like my feet are literally in a vice clamp, which I don’t understand because I don’t feel like I have particularly wide feet, I am only 5’ 10” and 150lbs with average feet. I have friends over six feet tall and much bigger than me who fit easily into these. The length is fine just the width is killing my feet. Five minutes in these boots and my feet are throbbing so there’s no way I can break them in while skiing. I need to get them broken in at the boot fitter.

my question is how much can this shell be widened if I go to a good boot fitter? Is it common to have to get these punched and molded to this extent? Really trying to make this work but would suck to spend money on a boot fitter for it to not work and then not be able to return. I tried the K2 method as well with the wider last but it was also too tight and too heavy of a boot plus I prefer the cables and look of the revolver. The last is 99mm, would it be possible to widen to like 102-103mm? Would be ideal if I could get these as comfortable as my old Salomon boots.

First step is head to a boot fitter and have them look at your feet in the boots. It’s really impossible to say if they will or will not work without seeing your foot in the shell.

But if the fitter thinks they will work there is a lot which can be done. Right now they are the tightest they will ever be and it’s not actually a bad thing for brand new boots to feel tight.

But head to a shop and find out if these may work or not.

You should probably go to a bootfitter first and see what they say about how well your feet will be when in the boots. Also its not bad if boots are tight when trying them on as they aren't molded to your feet size/shape yet.

If they feel that tight I think (no offence) that it was a bad purchase before even trying them on in person

punch could be an option...but

Yeah you shouldn't buy online because there's a huge chance that the boots wont fit you as you haven't tried them on in person

I agree, it’s just there’s only 2 models of the Full Tilt (K2 flex) in 99mm and 102mm and I’ve tried both and both were too tight. So I have to go with one or the other.

Both were tight (wide wise) if so 102 would of been a better pick

Or you could send them back, and go get fit for something that actually works for you. No one cares if you are in a 3 piece boot.

Theres lots of variables that go into a good fitting boot other than just length and width. Ankle mobility, leg strength, heel size, and more are all variables that an in person bootfitter look at to match your foot to the right boot. If you are set on the boot you bought because it looks cool/you like the brand/marketing then enjoy your feet hurting and a bunch of money spent having a bootfitter mod your boot.

the simple fix? Return and buy in person. Most shops have the attitude “no one who gets fitted and buys from our shop has an uncomfortable boot” and will work on your boot for free if you buy from them.

I just have always used 2 piece boots and want to try 3 piece to see if I’d benefit from the unique flex pattern. Just want to see if I’m missing out on something that I could end up really liking.

Still dont understand how its almost 2024 and people are still not going to bootfitters. Guys- it seriously helps. Like a lot. I have never met someone whose regretter going to a bootfitter, but ive met a LOT of people who complain about boots they bought online

Well, my two suggestions to you would be to either consider the K2 B&E, and or the Method, they share the same shell as each other I believe the only difference is in the flex and angle of attack. These are the widest 3 piece boots that are park oriented that k2 produces maybe see if you can swap them if your boots are still unused. But hopefully it all works out man!

I’m not saying don’t go to a boot fitter, but you can still purchase a ski boot with a more compatible width to your foot, and then get it fitted. Full Tilt now k2 has 3 main park orientated widths and choosing the right one is definitely a good idea. I fit perfect into my TW Pros, however my DropKick Pros are slightly tighter on my foot.

Just fyi the internal shape of the revolve (drop kick fto shell) and the revolve plus (wallisch fts shell) is actually identical. The only slight change is in the toe box but it’s very very small and only due to needing to change the last and shell to accommodate the replaceable shells.

Yeah that’s actually where I notice the difference lol right in the toes. But might point nonetheless that finding a proper shape is a good start before fitting begins.

Those k2 boots are particularly narrow. If u can send them back then do it. If not, the good news is you can probably mod them to fit right. Is it the boot your fitter woulda put you in? No. But we’re working with what you got here. Either send em back, or double down on modding and try to learn a thing or too from mr.bootfitter. Seriously some interesting/entertaining shit!

i think the method boots are wider?

The method is wider in the forefoot yes. The heel is basically the same however so they work well if you just need a little more space in the forefoot.

I think where people often go wrong is with the sizing. The sizing is not the same as most boots and often if you for example wear a 26.5 you may find a 27.5 works better. We for example use 27.5 as our test size in overlap boots and 28.5 for Fl3X. That’s just another reason it’s so important to try boots on.
