Full Ipod

Can it physically damage a hard drive to fill it up completely full? I filled my 30 Gig up to less than 1 MB of free space. Since then I have freed up about 800 MB. Is this enough or should I free up more space?

I dont think it matters. unlike a computer hard drive, youre not constantly reading/writing data on your ipod hard drive when youre listening to music. okay, maybe reading, but its more writing thats the issue here. since it's not always writing bits and pieces of information, i assume that you can fill it up completely. but i dont know for sure.
