FUJIFILM X-series

Curious if anyone has experience shooting (video mainly) with either the Fuji X-T3 or X-H1. I've had my a6300 for a couple years now and love it, but starting to get more curious about shooting on other systems. I know compared to the 6300 the X-H1 is pretty similar, but also has IBIS. X-T3 is on another level, but I love the X-H1's body design. I don't shoot much in 4k since I find 1080p good enough for what I do 99% of the time.

Really not looking to get into specs and stuff, and I've done my homework and watched probably too many 'reviews' of each on the youtubes so I know what they are all about...but none of that really does anything to say how they function on the hill wearing gloves and in the cold, so if someone here has experience with the Fuji systems I'd love to hear it!

I don’t know anything about those cameras, but, you should consider a 4k rig if you’re at all interested in editing in the long term - the increased possibilities with crop/reframing/stabilization/sharpness flexibility you get with 4k gives you a LOT of control over the footage. If you’re only really interested in filming, 1080 does just fine tho.

The Fuji series of digital cameras are far more focused as stills cameras, and are marketed primarily as art/street photography cameras. If you are looking for something more video focused, look into Panasonic or Sony’s offerings in the mirrorless market.

I know a good handful of people that love their xt3. I havent used it myself but haven't heard anything bad. I'd say if you can find a good lens setup thats in budget for you then go for it!

the xt3 captures great footage, f-log is apparently good to work with.

I always shoot 4k and downscale it to 1080, allows me to play with the framing a bit and I think the footage looks a bit more crisp.

I'd imagine using it in the cold is just the same as any other mirrorless camera. If you want a better feel for that then go to a camera store with whatever gloves you'd use and pretend its -20ºc outside.

I'm about to throw down on an XH1 kit w/ vertical battery grip and 18-135. Also looking to shoot some video but mostly stills.

I'll let you know

Dope, I'm pretty much looking at the same thing, adorama has the X-H1 + vertical grip + 16-55 f/2.8 for $1700 with no tax. Probably gonna sell off some lenses and pick that up.
