FUCK YOU PC

Damn, hopefully the ski clubs get a different deal. Can't believe they'd charge extra for night skiing, guess they gotta pay for it somehow.

And wasn't the young adult pass 550 last year? that would mean its the same price?

I just looked, its 550 for the young adult pass with night riding.

^yea, last year was $550, so technically... its the same. But id much rather be dropping $450. The idea of a mountain charging extra to be able to night ride is fucking ridiculous though.

They're just trying to get more people to come and buy the day only pass, cheap kids who don't wanna ski at night will do it for sure. Im guessing for ski clubs they'll have two prices, a new cheap one and the same as last year that includes nights.

Hey guys,

We are hoping the unbundled pricing will make the season passes available to more people as eheath mentioned. In case you were wondering about the college rep pricing, here it is:

$450 for unlimited days and nights

$350 only days

$225 only nights

So find your college reps!

-Becca (Park City Mountain Resort)

So they kept the young adult pass the same price with nights but bumped up the college rep price 75 bucks? lame.

eheath, we are sorry you feel that way, however please consider the fact that pass prices at all mountains consistantly increase from year to year. I hope that the on mountain improvements including the 3-kings terrain park expansion and extended night riding until 9pm is worth the extra $75!

-Becca (Park City Mountain Resort)

I just wish PCMR would show respect one of their main local crowd, college students.

And the price actually went down last year.

you make no fucking money off of locals anyways. Its such bullshit. I'd love to pay $700 and get a Utah epic pass, but of course this dumb state does nothing like that. Colorado has this shit right...

i really dont want to pay $100 extra just so I can ski solid fucking ice, the only reason I thought PC night skiing would be cool is so that I can drink a lot with friends on a mountain. And about mountains consistently raising prices : Jackson Hole dropped pass prices 25% for locals this year.

It's not Utah's fault that there's no resort-to-resort pass.. It's the fact they're under separate ownership..

And if you don't want to even ski at night, why is this an issue?

... i didnt say I didn't want to ski at night. I said I want to ski at night for no other reason than partying because its fun, and I think it is ridiculous how they are charging for night passes. Keystone, brighton, 7 springs, all those shit-hole mid-west mountains, night skiing is included in the season pass... because its a SEASONS pass(night time is part of the season)... for one of the bigger named mountain in the country to be charging local kids $100 extra is fucking dumb.

UHHH....,,,, So how about The Canyons doing $399 College passes this year? Thats, what, only like 10 bucks more than last year? They're repositioning the Gondola, giving us better park access with the new tits-as-shit sounding Golden Eagle lift, bumping up snow making capacity and revamping the village center. Plus a free day pass and unlimited hot cocoa, Canyons just sold me for a second year straight. Besides, Duke is a boss.

brightons college pass is 449 including night riding, pcs college pass is 450. So, theres not much argument there. the price for just day went down for college kids from last year by another 25 bucks which is ill considering when i was a freshmen the passes cost what they do now only without night riding.

im stoked for this shit.

Well, considering I made the transfer from Brighton, no, I really didn't give a fuck. My-oh-My didn't open until March 24th and it was less than phenomenal. And correct me if Im wrong but the Step-up was the last jump to open and that was the first week of February, not second, Kings didnt open until the second week of January. Whats that, 3 weeks, whoopty-fuckin-doo. Good things come to those who wait, and the new snowmaking reservoir will be making that wait even shorter.

* March 18th.. derp.

And Im not hating on PC parks at all, dont know why you chose to throw that out there. I would be pissed if I had to pay $75 extra on my Seasons when the same could be done charging $5 more on day-passes.

ya they definitely didn't increase last year so you are bullshitting us.
It makes sense that you guys are charging more for night riding and such but the college kids should be the ones with the discounts, since we do provide free advertising by making video edits of your terrain park (PC's pride and joy since the rest of the mountain is fucking flat) which makes kids from all over to come check out PC's terrain park, which means they buy your ridiculous 90$ day passes of which PC obviously makes a shit ton of profit from. It makes no sense to raise season passes for college kids 75$ since we are the bulk of PC's advertising. Plus most of us can barely afford that so raising your prices is really just mean.

Canyons is doing some pretty major improvements also and not upping the price on the No Brainer passes. The amount of money you can make by increasing day pass prices is huge compared to how much you make upping season pass prices.

Why is everybody bitching about a $75 price increase for an entire season of night riding? That is less than the price of a day pass and allows an extra 35ish hours of skiing per week. It's nice enough for resorts to give college students discounted passes purely for the reason that we are financially unstable when in no way do we provide any sort of profits for the resorts themselves. Does anybody really think that "college edits" bring much business to park city? For every family that vacations there because their 12 year old son saw a 4bi9 edit online, they probably lose a wealthier family to Dear Valley because they didn't want to deal with as many wannabe gangsters crowding the lower lifts. The day only passes are $25 cheaper this year, so if you feel the need to bitch about paying extra for night skiing, save yourself some money. Otherwise, enjoy the improvements PC is making. I have wished that PC would have a legitimate night park for the last three years and I am so excited that it is finally a reality.

its funny how everyone who is bitching now will all have their pc passes once the snow starts to fall and who cares pc has aides anyways

yes, it does bring business, in fact it brought my business (and many of my friends for that matter) for the last 2 seasons. Everybody wants to ride PC because they see 4bi9 edits and clownschool edits and everybody elses edits that makes PC look so sick. after kids get their hands on these edits they beg their parents to take them to Park City so they can shred the same park that they see in these edits. And PC has been losing wealthier families to DV forever don't act like that shit's new. I will enjoy the improvements at PC but my wallet will not. 75$ extra is horseshit for the kids that really make PC's Park known.

Thanks for proving my point. Park City makes no money on you and your friends skiing there while you are in college. Do you think edits on ns give PC as much publicity as something like their park being ranked in Transworld Snowboarding or Freeskier? If anybody makes money off of these edits it is the U because they do attract a few out of state students. PC is offering more services and are charging a menial amount of money for these services. Like I said before, if you are just going to bitch about it, get a day only pass and save $25 compared to a pass last season. Drink some fucking McCormicks for two weeks and I'm sure you will save enough money to compensate for the $75 difference.

seventy five dollars is not a lot of money. get a job, dont buy a bag for a week, its pretty much a days worth of work in order to be able to ski pick at night. this thread is pretty dumb.

Honestly I don't really have a big problem with it. You can still enjoy the newly expanded Pick park and pay $25 less than last year. Or you can get night skiing as well for $75 more than last year.
It's not the deal of the century, but it's not completely out of line either.

still 150 dollars cheaper than my hill in Connecticuts season pass with night skiing. and we opened mid december and closed with a week left in march.

Becca,

Have you seen the economy lately? Have you heard of deflation? At this point in time lift ticket places should be flat year over year if not cheaper.

From,

A tourist who spends more than 3 weeks skiing out west every year.

JOOOOOO

How you been?

Hows the summer treating you man? Any fun adventures? I've sat working.....you know...to afford to ski out in your backyard.

I can't believe how petty this bitching has become. OK, people film edits and advertise for PC for free through those edits. Several of those people are rewarded with free passes. An entire group of people (College students) shouldn't get a $300 pass because 4 people that belong to that group happen to film a cool edit.

It's like saying I'm smart, so I get a scholarship... that means everyone from the midwest should get a scholarship. No.

The other hundreds of kids that buy a young adult or college pass don't offer much to the resort. They don't eat food there, they're rowdy in the lift lines, they're offensive and for the most part, just rowdy college kids that reflect poorly to the customer that DOES give PC money. The wealthy business man from NYC, or the family from Texas.

Adding lights and regrading an entire run, as well as adding additional snow making, snowmaking lines, etc. requires a little bit of money. You pay an extra $75 or whatever it is for night riding... you go 15 times (i hope), that's $5 a time. Do you know how easy it is to save $5? Don't eat out once a week between now and then and you'll have saved $200.

Everyone, go buy your Canyons and Brighton passes. Those places are fun from time to time, but they're not PC.

SIMILARLY, no one is bitching how Snowbird has a Tram pass for $650 or whatever, then just chairs for $550. If it's a "Season pass" you think it would include the whole mountain right?

my home 211 foot ski hill in wisconsin's season passes are 485 a year for mid december to the first weekend in march. I think i am content with paying 550 for day and night skiing and getting so so so much more mountain to play on. Stop bitching

no hate to the Bird on my last comment there. That place slays. I was just using them as an example.

I wish Snowbird just picked it up and made a dope park.. then i'd only need one pass.

there old one was way fun.

When a company makes large improvements you would expect them to compensate by upping the prices a little ($75) We should expect the 2011/2012 season to be cheaper than this year.

Just for fun lets break it down.

PC will be open 142 days this year

Club Price is $450

Thats roughly $3.17 if you were to ride every single day.

Riding every day isnt logical for most of us so we will say 100 days of riding at $4.50 a day

At $4.50 you are paying $.37 an hour 5 of those hours are new to pick.

So for $1.85 extra a day ,on a 100 day year, you get to ride pick and shovel at night.

Sounds good to me.

Haha I might have went a little overboard. Seriously though eveyone was bitching about $75 bucks when picks gonna be huge and we get to ride at night

Hmm ya a bad economy always results in lower prices for luxury goods... not.

Season pass prices go up all the time, and this time there is actually something to show for it. They are spending tons of money all summer putting shit in at three kings that is specifically for us park skiers, AND they are giving us hours and hours more shred time with the addition of night skiing. Stop being jews.
