Thanks for having my entire music collection deleted off my ipod for no reason. There goes 3 years of my life.

Please, whoever reads this, back up your music. I know its something everyone should know to do already but I was lazy and stupid. Now I'm depressed and angry because I have to download everything again.

And before it gets brought up. I've changed computers multiple times over the years and never transfered my music. Another stupid mistake.
 
thats why i bought an externam HD, there cheap kiddies, go out and buy one, back up my photos and music
 
yea, they dont really make it that clear that you might lose all your data. if you ever bring your computer in to them make sure you back it up first or make sure your data's gonna be safe.
 
the only problem ive had with apple so far is not being able to download the pc version of rollercoaster tycoon. curse you apple!
 
That sucks mang. I wish the files were stored as mp3s on the ipod so you didnt have to use another program to get your music off your own ipod.
 
There are definitely pros and cons to having an external hard drive. If you have a laptop its dope to have one but I don't want to carry the external around all the time. The best shit to do is keep your music on your hard drive then when you have a external...partition it. That allows you to have sections of your external to do different things. And if you have Leopard you can run TIME MACHINE on one part and use the other as straight storage. So what I do is run time machine on 200gb of my 500 gb then use the other 264 or what ever to put footage on....Best thing you can do with a laptop. Now if you have a desktop or something that you dont move...Just consolidate your Itunes to a folder in your external hard drive. This not only frees up space on your computers HD, but keeps your music safe somewhere that has a less chance of crashing. My 2 cents. Hope that helps.

i lost 34 gigs of music 4 years ago. im back up to 26 but im still missing a lot. it sucks ass. i feel for you man
 
did it actually get deleted or is it just not showing up on the ipod? i had this happen but the memory was full. all i needed to do was update my ipod to the latest version and update itunes to the latest version and voila.. fixed!
 
Hmmm, I never thought of that. Well its too late considering I already restored my ipod and have almost half of my music back. I spent a straight 24 hours working on downloading and situating my ipod and itunes.
