this is a little thing i like to call, taking responsiblilty for your actions. getting drunk is fine. driving drunk is not. you got what you deserve.
 
Cops will definitely do illegal searches and whatnot if it's obvious you don't know your rights. They are trained to get you to give up your rights without you realizing. Every cop does this, so if you think they did an illegal search, you probably consented without realizing it. You have to repeat over and over that you don't consent to a search. But you basically have no rights if there's a DUI suspicion.

i agree, driving drunk is something stupid and irresponsible to do. i wasnt driving drunk, i was at half the legal limit, i couldnt even feel any alcohol in me. the cops were pulling over everyone they could because it was 1 in the morning on st. patricks day. i was going to pick up my drunk friend in his car, and his tail light happened to be out so i was pulled over for that. and for those of you who say i have no reason to say that the police were rude power hungry pieces of shit, have absolutely nothing to base that off of seeing as how you were not there, and have no idea what actually happened. Im upset that im having to deal with thousands of dollars worth of shit now, because i blew a .04 and simply because im 18 and not 21 im getting a dui. whats the difference between a 21 yr old who drives with a.04 bac, and an 18 yr old.someone is is 21 can't drive any better with a .04 bac then someone who is 18. i think it's a rediculous law
 
agreed the law is stupid for sure but if there was no difference between ppl over 21 and under then it really would be a law so until that changes they have to differentiate between the 2!!
 
Sorry I formulated my post badly, what I meant was that the drinking age is too high, not that the drinking and driving laws are dumb. I agree that anyone who drinks (and I mean drinks abusively) and drives should suffer some consequences. However, blowing an amount of alcohol like 0.04 does not really make a physical difference whether you are 18 or 21...
 
he couldn't fight it in court, if your under 21 there is a zero tolerance policy. even blowing a .01 would be a DUI.
 
i don't understand how you think you know how i was treated. You werent there. I wouldnt expect to be treated super nice. I was cordial, calm and polite throughout the entire ordeal, and some of the cops went out of their way to be asses. Once again, no one here was there, watching my situation, and anything any of you guys says is coming staright out of your ass. I've never said in my entire life that all cops are the devil, but severel of the ones that I delt with last night don't deserve to have the job that they do, they did it poorly. This is going to cost me alot of time and money and it sucks, but since you took some highschool criminology class or some shit you obviously know what your talking about so i guess i'll just shut up.
 
That's what I'm complaining about, that is the part of the law that I think is so stupid. Would you please explain to me, how in 2 and a half years I would be so much more capable of driving with a .04 bac, to the point where I would have been breathalyzed and told to drive home safe, but instead I got arrested, put in jail and and got charged with a DUI.
 
yeah you guys dont know how the cops work around here...especially in albany. they are fucked up...very fucked up. there are some really nice cops. officer colbert who walks the beat on lark street and the center square area in albany is super nice and is there to help out. others are not. can we say corrupt??? i wont even begin to go into stories about what i've seen cops do around here..or lack thereof for that matter.

either way, you should not have driven. i dont care if you have a .04 or whatever. its the law and its there for a reason so stfu and pay the fine
 
actually, maybe this is only in WI, it's not a DUI for such a case. driving with a BAC under the legal limit while under-age constitutes a ticket called "absolute sobriety," and it's not nearly as bad a DUI... sucks you couldn't get that instead
 
no i dont actually. i dont get into guilderland that often. but guilderland, albany and bethlehem are the worst counties to get pulled over in. trust me. i do know of other first class d-bags though. one of them had the audacity to hit on me too after i came home from an interview. i reported him as soon as i got his fat bald ass away from my car. yeah good times here in atown. i have so many stories half of you wouldnt even believe. lots of stuff here never makes the news or the papers
 
yeah but just dont drinnk and drive in the first place. my cousin was killed because of a drunk driver. so its just plain not cool alright? dont fucking do it.

first off the initial poster didnt hit anyone, wasnt swerving(as far as i know), and from what hes said hes was driving like a normal person. so shut the fuck up. but i do agree driving drunk is very selfish and irresponsible.

and to the initial poster the difference between an 18 year old with.o4 in his system driving and a 21 year old is 3 years driving experience. that can make a world of difference in some situations.

and to the one guy who said some chick at his school blew a .60 after swalling mouthwash.... you should stop drinking paint thinner. your retarded.
