i hate that thing. It always kicks in halfway through me typing my username so I have to stop and click on the username box again. It's not like its doing anybody any good, get rid of it.

 
i've had that prob too it sucks. fuck it it's dumb anyway.

not sure if we're talking 'bout the same thing, but i noticed something last week. Normally, i use IE. i start to type my user name, and something else steals focus, so i have to put focus back in the user name box. Well, last week i was on a linux box with netscape, and it din't happen. I assumed it was browser specific?

Cats. the other white meat.
 
^ yeah that is exactly what i'm talking about. It is different with each OS/browser combinations, but it is so fucking annoying.

 
sometimes i type in newschoolers.com/PHP/Forum/Forum.php4...not that i have your problem, i just like going there instead of that first page

I type an ''e'', hit the down arrow 3 times to select ''EastCoastPride'', hit Tab, type my passowrd, and I'm in. I'd say it takes approximately... 1.04 seconds.

and who uses IE anymore anyway? pssh, it's all about mozilla and netscape. (i know, pretty much same browser. half my friends like net, half like moz.)

im with randall.. username and password done in like 3-4 seconds. Anyways, the reason it probably didnt happen on the linux box might have something to do with that browser not accepting the script/code or whatever the ticker is running off of. Thus, it never loads and doesnt steal 'focus'.

I seriously hate that news ticker. I can honestly say that I've never looked at it.
