good job unions and liberals. Now the price for everything else is going to rise. Companies will either lay off employees and not hire as many people or will raise prices of their goods or services. It's simple economics and it's all so the unions can make more money since what they earn is based on minimum wage. And a lot of the time, hiking up the minimum wage results in hurting the poor of America. This minimum wage hike is BULLSHIT.
 
raise in minimum raises other wages too = more money for everyone so we can afford more expensive goods.
 
well it's the federal minimum wage that increased, if your state had a minimum wage already above the federal level, then it won't affect you.
 
Dude, unions are outdated. They worked 20-30 years ago when corporation took advantage of and mistreated their employees, now with the increased transparency of companies, the improved labor laws and ability for people to communicate their thoughts to the masses though media, they are unnecessary. All that unions do is encourage mediocrity.

I hate unions.... but everyone entitled to their own opinion.

no it makes companies fire or layoff more workers cause they can't afford them. You wont be able to buy more expensive goods. Prices of products go up with wage increases.
 
min wage in utah is 5.15$ and their raising it to what, like 7.50$? So that is a big difference here, things are bound to change.
 
The unions don't give a fuck about the wage increase, they get higher than minimum already. It's helping out the guy working 10 hour shifts at mcdonalds every day of the week to pay for some shitty apartment. So instead of bitching about how you might need to pay a couple cents more for useless crap, support helping out millions of Americans living in poverty.

Do you honestly think you are smarter than the hundreds of economists that do math for years based on averages, prices and price changes? Do you think someone just thought, "Hey, lets increase minimum wage! More money can't possibly be bad can it?" without thinking of the obvious repercussions? Yes, an increase in minimum wage does generally mean an increase in the price index (cost of goods), but it also does ALOT more. Just because you hear one thing that sounds bad doesn't mean you know the whole story.

Just because the min wage is going up does not mean everything is going to go up, for example, do you think that because the min wage went up that everything from a computer to a car is going to go up?? Well im pretty sure the people buying those things on a regular basis were not minimum wage workers before the increase, so why do you think they are going to raise the prices on everything? Honestly, getting 5.25 dollars per hour is basically slavery in my opinion. People are screwing other people over their time and getting rich off of it, its about time they start to pay people what they are even worth (20$ per hour is a more realistic minimum wage, because that is what it costs to live and have money and buy property and shit) Fuck I could go on and on, but im going skating now

Unions contracts are based on minimum wage. If the minimum wage goes up, union contracts increase. They make more than minimum wage, but because it's raised, they get more money.

Useless crap? food, gas, any goods and services. It's not a few cents. This helps no one, and usually hurts the guy working 10 shifts at mcdonalds.

Seriously, go study some basic simple economics and you will learn how stupid rasing minimum wage is.

Yes, some of things you are saying ARE TRUE. In the short run. Economic short and long run are often opposite of each other. There will be immediate spikes in certain things, that will eventually come to an equilibrium. The points you are making are one-sided, biased and horrible skewed.
 
unions take a percentage of every union members pay check, so every wage increase increases the union's profit
 
Thats a great idea, I could get a job anywhere I want, be fucking lazy and not work, get laid off move to another shitty job and make $20 an hour, then I could take all this money I made and go try and buy stuff... gas would cost around $12 a gallon, a cheeseburger $15 on up. But it sounds like a great idea!
 
wow dude learn what your talking about. the minimum wage increases are good for america. people getting payed $5 an hour were getting fucked over hardcore. and wow your gas was going to go up anyways, quit complaining about it, we get it cheap as fuck here. and your fucking cheeseburgers arent going to go up in price, when you notice something goes up in price call the company and ask them why, then call me and tell me okay? oh and so people get laid off, oh well they were probably being lazy anyways. thats how the world works, and its not like they cant go find another job somewhere else. read up son.
 
your a dipshit, i said it would go up that high if the minumim wage was raised to $20 an hour. If you were paying someone that much to flip burgers then the price of the food will go up
