7 hours into an edit it quit and not only erased my edit but erased all downloaded footage. I start over. I'm on the last clip of this edit for the second time , it quits and will not let me add onto the portion that was saved. The clips just go gray when I try to click them and drag them into the movie.
 
what type of mac do you have?your way overloading it in one way or another regardless if its quiting that easily
 
i was gonna say get FCP or premiere but if imovie's randomly force quitting, theres no way his computer could handle either of those. that or there could be something wrong wtih his imovie but i highly doubt that.i think he just has too much stuff on his comp
 
i would agree with you, but i've seen some pretty weak computers handle pp cs3 pretty well. my sisters comp is a compaq presario with only 2gb RAM and it runs cs3 fine. although, it's a PC, not a Mac.
