honestly i think that the bible is a load of bullshit made up in the mid eavil ages to get people to convert to christianity. i eman theres no way that jesus dies and came back to life 3 days later. maybe humans had special powers back then but i highly doubt it.. so in conclusion, i think religion is fucking bullshit and easter is preventing me from skiing tomorrow
 
you can believe what you want, but this thread is completely useless, and unreasonably demeaning to those that do believe. Not only that, but you don't have your facts straight, showing how ignorant you are on the whole subject.

Easter isnt a religious holiday. Its a holiday because the easter bunny lays his colored candy filled eggs at my house. Ha, who believes in jesus when the easter bunny is so reliable?
 
stop complaining, if people want to be religous let them. im not religous at all but i still think the whole idea is pretty cool and alot more interesting than science. i really dont believe in science or religion cause really, either one could be right, and i dont need an explanation for everything.

I agree, religion is a load of shit. All church does is brainwash people by scaring them to the idea of pain after death. Death is eternal people, dont fear it, live with it!

About the ressurection: have the thought of someone taking jesus's corpse out of the cave? It explains it all, the stone have been removered and the body desapeared. If I were ressurected, I would prove it to the world, but it didnt happen.

Jesus saved us all by sacrifice...right, more like he was condemned to death. By that logic all the people that were murderd for christiannity were all saviours too? So this is how it works:believe in christ or you die.Thats what you learn in bible camp right?

Finaly, you guys only listen to what you want to listen to even if its lies and unproven facts. Then you people argue based on those unproven facts and think you are all knowing.

Religion is dead, we dont need it. Science is not only true, but its the search for truth as close as we could understand it.

 
Ignorance is bliss, not everything in the bible is literal. And just because someone chooses to believe something doesn't give you any right to completely bash them for it.

Technically, most churches haven't used fear tactics to get people to go or whatever since the fire and brimstone era of the Puritans, its hardly in practice at all anymore.

If you knew the full story of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, then you would know that when they went inside the tomb, the body was gone. Mary was talking to 2 angels in the tomb, went outside and started talking to a man she didn't recognize. He then told her that he was Jesus and proved it to her. So ya, its not like he was just carried off.

You seriously have no idea what you are talking about. You should at least learn Accurate facts before you bash someone because of what they believe in.

JEsus was in fact seen after the ressurection, according to the bible.

Not only that, but the bible was written as a doctrine of beliefs, and a guide of living. There are many people that believe that the stories aren't meant to be literal, they are meant to be stories illustrating ideas.

As some people said above... medieval times? no... testaments of the bible have been carried through time since the babylonians. That's before Egypt and the Pyramids

it's funny how people assume that everyone that is catholic or believes in any religion at all is some sort of zombie created by the church. you guys put people into two groups: those who don't believe in god, and those who are insane. maybe if you took 5 minutes out of your retarded existence to think about yourself, your life, everything that you live for, and everything that you're greatful for, you might be able to kick that insecurity and actually understand the world a little bit better. i'm not saying that if you aren't religious you don't understand the world, i'm just saying don't fucking mock people for having a belief in something.

I'm all for reason and science rather than faith, but the threadstarter really needs to get his facts and spelling straight before trying to argue on the behalf of science and intelligence.

Maybe you dont know, but I have been to church once. The people were nice and all, but I was really sick of hearing about how weak I am and how I completly depend on god. I can believe people actually listen without questioning to the preatcher.

I live for the others, not for god. I am not a slave to people though, I want to have the right to do what I want. I was never told what to live for, I thought about it a lot. I think church for people represents a crutch, something to help them through the hard time, to seek confort in a difficult time. If you take it away, or criticise it, people become insulted.

There is nothing wrong about having beliefs if it make you a good person, it bothers me that others let themselves be dictaded by belief and impose their ideologies on me.

And my point of people thinking their know all because they believe in god, you just proved it;you tell me that I know nothing about life and that you know what life is about. I do not claim to know all truth, I have my views.Mine are not absolute and neither as yours, you were just told.

Religion is not bad, the douchebags who run religions are. For example, if you were to read the bible without knowing about it before hand, you would think "those are some good messages, we should be nice to everyone else and lead good lives". But then, people try and interpret scriptures written by fallible humans into being the divine words of God. Do you think Jesus would be standing at an anti abortion rally throwing eggs at people? Hell no.

That pretty much applies to all religions nowadays and how people warp the message. Muhammed didn't want crazy motherfuckers blowing up buses with bombs strapped to their backs.
 
I'm a catholic and my best friend is an atheist. Its people who rant and rave about religion that is bullshit. Quit trying to make other people change their lives because yours sucks bro.
 
most people don't even understand what easter is all about, so I don't think it's even about religion anymore except for Christians and Jewish people. and some of those people just consider it a time to get together with family and not to worship jesus or god or whatever. Like me, I'm agnostic, but I like easter and other holidays because everyone gets together..

also, chocolate is good.
