i bought a new nano chromatic and i came a week ago. i had no idea apple was coming out with the video camera and other cool features so soon, they didnt fucking advertise (thus fuck them). i am insanely pissed off about this, and am trying to sell my old one, maybe on ebay, so i can buy a new one with video. this sucks
 
yeah ipods are very predictable with apple, computers aren't as easy, i knew there would be a new ipod in sept
i learned the hard way a few years ago so now i just look around on mac forums and stuff to see about possible releases and wait
 
Shoot, I just bought the iPhone 3G S, I'll go return it and get the latest one. Just return the nano, say it wasn't working right and you want your money back, say you weren't satisfied.
 
I am almost 100% sure you can return that one for the new one. because they told me when i bought my imac if a new one came out that i could get it. I ended up getting a bigger screen alot more memory and hardrive space and 200 dollars back.
 
macrumors.com will tell you whenever new anything are going to come out. but as it has been stated new ipod are released around september every year. also they have hugely advertised Apple event called WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) every year when they usually update or release new products, so you probably don't wanna buy a new Apple product leading up to those events.
 
The new ones have almost the exact same internals and everything as the old ones. The only things that have changed are the camera and a bigger screen.

The new ones are also cheaper.
 
Can anyone name a computer/electronics company that DOESN'T progress without stopping? Are you seriously surprised? It's not an Apple thing, it's a technology/business thing in general.
 
just take the box and smash it or something so it looks like the mail carrier did it and then sue fedex for breaking your ipod
 
I just purchased the zune hd. can't wait, i don't have sattalite tv so i can just use my zune for movies and shit
 
the Zune HD looks so sick, cept for one MAJOR drawback- the lack of 3G connectivity. I had a zune 80, and they are awesome products, but the wireless is a joke, and never works right. Id have picked one up in a sec if it had 3G, but wireless is bound to be a major pain in the ass, and in my opinion, its bound to fail because of this. If it had the ability to run apps and always be connected like the touch, itd be a killer piece equipment. it sure looks burly, and durability was always awesome with their other stuff. but Id hold off until you can use it to make sure the wireless isnt bunk.
 
Its all redone I beleive the wireless is fixed, i'm not to worried about the wireless it looks sick and the hd screen looks breathtaking, i don't really like ipods much i mean they hold up and everything but i've always liked microsoft and i've had ipods and never been blown away i loved my old zune but I'm excited to see how this one is, If i don't like it im imediantly sending it back though
 
do youre fucking research before you buy , dont blame it on apple . theyre the only innovative company left . besides TEEQUALIZER!
 
apple runs under the 2 year plan, where they design their products so that in two years, you will want to/have to upgrade
 
honestly you might be able to return it, my friend had this similar situation with a computer he bought from them at the beginning of the year
 
i feel for him because i did the same thing a few years ago, i bought a powerbook and like 2 weeks later the macbook pro came out
 
i bought my MBP in march and they came out with the 8 hour battery life one like 2 months later. thank god i bought mine early, at least i can still take my battery out.
 
yeah i bought the new macbook and then they came out with the pro which is exactly the same thing as what i have just with the long battery life but i have 2 batteries so i don't care
 
i think it would be pretty sick actually, like srsly said you could catch some good ski footy. i have my ipod out all the time whereas my phone and camera stay in my purse...i'd be able to film something priceless more quickly on my ipod IMO.
 
meh, i'd rather have a video camera to catch ski footy..

seems more like a "hey look at what we can do" instead of functionality..
 
Thanks Apple, all we needed was even more people sharing their stupid fucking 30 second clips of themselves and their loser friends on youtube!
 
i rushed to the store and rushed to get money to buy my mbp the day before they came out with the new ones

if i hadnt made it, i wouldnt have had enough money and would have had to settle for the regular macbook, and therefore no firewire

also i don't really like the new ones for alot of reasons
 
exactly, it's like "omg the ipod is small...no way it's also a video camera!!! but it's so small!!! zomg" and then everybody buys it
im sure it will be great for teenage girls to document themselves doing retarded shit...while we may view it as somewhat pointless, apple views it as a way to make shitloads of bank, which always ends up happening
 
I like the FM feature that lets you pause the radio. Other than that, the video camera is just there to be there. Every teenage girl already carries her phone that has a camera and video on it, her ipod, and her regular digital camera.
 
amateur content is sometimes the best (insert porn joke) but i think the nano will spawn more facebook videos of 14 year old girls than cool creative or hilarious amateur vids
im not against it at all i'm just not a huge fan of combining so many things that none of them reach their full potential. it sounds weird but i'd rather carry around a dslr, a video camera, and a laptop than one thing that takes bad pics, records mediocre vids, and with a tiny screen for watching movies
example of an epic win is the 5dmkII, fuck yeah, now you can have a great video camera and a dslr in one
 
yeah and I love to use my SLR for those awesome shots, but the fact of the matter is im not going to ski at my peak with a $600 dollar camera in my bag, cheap or not.
