Sooo after a really weird turn of events involving unexpected birthday gifts I ended up with 2 of these. Both have been adequately paid for, it's not like Trew accidentally sent me 2 and I just sniped one without telling them, but one of them was a gift and cannot be returned and the other has been used once and can't be returned.

I'm selling a brand new green one. It's been taken out of the plastic and the tags are removed but it has never been worn and never been exposed to any elements. I'll give you guys below proform price on it which is $300 + ship.

$290 gets it shipped to you within the US via priority mail. Extra charges for shipping to canadia. Local deals can be made in the VT area, I'll be at Killington this wknd most likely.

No need for pics since its brand fucking new, but here's what it looks like:

kthx

trew has top quality stuff. 20/20k 3L. you'd rather have looks over quality?

and for this price, its a good fucking deal!

k kingdang i forgot your the king ! its not that cool and well it looks legit like every green specialblend jacket i have ever seen

it is the best outerwear you can get...... soooooooooooooooooo ya. and its you spelled it wrong its kangbang, dumbass......

no trades, sorry

besides trading trew for oakley would be like trading natalie portman for WILCOX's mom....not a great decision

DON'T backtalk Zach, he is a guru of tech gear. And to Wilcox, your dumb, if you ski where there is actually precipitation, you like to stay dry. Quality outerwear is how you stay dry. And to the dude that said that trew is the best, no it isn't there are more tech things out there, but trew is really damn nice.

yeah arc'teryx and other companies make more tech outerwear but trew bridges the gap between good looking and comfortable fitting outerwear and super tech companies

Not calling you out on this at all, but there are some really sick Gore-Tex jackets made, and you can't argue that this is more technical than Gore-Tex. On the other hand, I'm not saying Gore-Tex is better than this, just they're equal and that Trew is not the only beholder of stylish and technically sound jackets.

Sparknotes: There are plenty of really sick jackets as technical as this, but you should buy this anyway.

Lets be honest here Tommy, none of us are going to notice the difference between waterproof materials when they're at least 20k/20k. Gore-Tex doesn't quantify their materials into an xk/xk rating, but it is believed to be at least 20k/20k.

What 20k fabric means is that it can withstand 20,000,000 mm (66 feet) of water over the course of 24 hours before it permeates. The reality is that you're not going to notice the difference between 20k and 30k fabric at all, because in any typical day, you're never going to encounter such extremely.... wet circumstances. It is said that anything in the 15k-30k range is resistant in shallow depths of standing water, meaning you could jump into a pool (if entirely surrounded by the fabric) and not touch water at all. Granted you couldn't sit in the pool all day, but you get at what I'm saying.

So all in all, sure waterproofing is plenty important, but once you reach a certain "rating" it's insignificant and merely used as a marketing scheme. I like what Helly Hansen and and Gore-Tex (I know it's not a company) do, with the former testing fabrics through 5 wash cycles on all garments, and the latter not releasing a numeric rating on waterproofing.

Why I just typed that all out into a B/S/T thread, I have no idea.

Good luck selling, Gator.

Gore-Tex is a company, but they don't make their own clothing. I can't really convey this very well. I'll use examples. Gore-Tex isn't like Saga, Trew, Orage, HH, Oakley, etc. They just make fabric that is used in some jackets. My brother just bought a Nike jacket that has Gore-Tex fabric, and is super nice.

And could you explain yourself on the second part? I don't quite comprehend it, haha. Because Gore-Tex doesn't give out a numeric value (xk/xk) for their fabric...

Damn, you're right. And sorry if my above post sounded... condescending, I just didn't really understand what you meant.

I just looked up that jacket, and you're right, it says 30+/30+. Interesting, maybe just speculation? Good look on posting that though, pretty interesting, and a sick jacket.

my bad dog. haha, i take full responsibility for that. it just proved to be way more interesting than college apps.

i'm glad you got it sold so fast. have a good season everyone!

no trew is not better quality than arc'teryx but for the type of skiing most of us do every day trew is all you really need. i still have a tech cloudveil shell that i use for long tours but i foresee trew replacing even that

haha thanks for the back up logan.

i also have a gore-tex burton ak jacket, which is also bombproof

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA I stopped reading replies after this because nothing could be better than ending my night with this!
Trew is sick!
