Here I have an unlocked and jailbroken iPhone 3GS.

White, has only been used since june of this year.

Don't need it anymore and could use the cash.

Unlocked, so obviously works on any carrier.

Has an invisible shield on the screen, but right under the home button has come up and been pushed back down, but it doesn't stick the best.

It's currently on 3.1.2 but I have the SHSH files backed up in Cydia for every version since 3.1 and I can update it to the 4.1 if you want.

Comes with the original box and everything else, minus the cheap headphones that they ship with these phones.

Asking $450 obo

You'd think so...I actually wasn't planning on asking that much until I did some research on what these are going for...here's a screenshot showing the average sale price on eBay over the last 3 weeks:

yeah well thats ebay where everybody pays way more for what its worth. newschoolers will not offer you that much for that. youll have a better chance lowering your price.

Someone didn't learn basic economic principles.

Was there an offer in there or was that just you spouting off your opinion?

LOL at "ebay where everybody pays way more for what its worth" HAHA

Bump it up. Good luck

ya, thats not realistic at all, It says from the screen shot, that one sold for $8.50 as the low. And $3,650 as the high. First things first if you understand statistics at all you have to understand that those are unrealistic prices and should be thrown out of the sample.

Avg is a bad way to show price, I bet the median of the sample is much lower and more reallistic!!!!!!!!!

No, sorry.

Verizon is a CDMA network, which is a totally different wireless technology than GSM, which is what the iPhone works on.

Bump for offers.

Really?

Can you get an iPhone 4 for $200 unlocked for use on any carrier, anywhere in the world?

Or without a contract with AT&T at all?

You should really do some research on something called TCO (Total Cost of Ownership)

The MINIMUM TCO for the iPhone 4 on AT&T is $2000 over the course of the contract.

You can find that info here:

http://www.zdnet.com/blog/apple/comparing-tco-iphone-4-vs-evo-4g-vs-incredible-vs-nexus-one/7317

And your phone is still locked to AT&T, so if you go out of the country, you have to pay a shit-ton for international service, instead of just popping in a prepaid sim and using it while you're abroad.

Thanks for playing, but you should really check into these things before you go spouting off trying to discredit my thread.

2000... NO. thats where your wrong, and i do have a plan for at&t and if you really wanted to you can unlock and jailbreak it yourself (not that hard ive done it several times) and when your 2 year contract is up yes your i phone4 will be only 200.

Well, I really hate to turn this into me showing what a moron you are...but, here goes;

As I said Total Cost of Ownership for the iPhone4 with the most basic plan from AT&T is $2000, just in case you're bad at math though, it's quite simple - take your monthly bill and multiply by 24...that's the amount you're roped into spending with your iPhone4 because, well...you're on CONTRACT with AT&T.

If you break contract, you're forced to pay the remainder of the FULL RETAIL PRICE on the phone, which is $700.

And guess what? Your phone is still locked to AT&T.

The unlocking game has gotten more and more complex because Apple and AT&T don't want you doing it...they both lose money if you're able to unlock, so they keep adding ways to make it harder to do.

The newest baseband/modem firmware has not been unlocked, and you're not able to flash it to a previous version because it's FIRMWARE, not software which can be erased and rewritten as many times as you like, with whatever version you like.

Also, the newest version of iOS on the iPhone4 depends upon a "tethered" jailbreak, which means that in order to use it in a jailbroken state, you must apply the jailbreak via a computer each time the phone is turned on or rebooted...giant pain in the ass.

If you were to buy a new iPhone4, even without a contract and pay the $700 retail price for it, you wouldn't be able to unlock it.

In addition to this, the newest iOS implements more codesign checks, including a new baseband check to verify the software version loaded on it.

I could go on and on with more examples of your idiocy...

I've been doing this since the very first iPhone launched in 2007 (I had an original launch day phone).

Again, you've proven that you're uninformed and ignorant about this topic.

If you'd like to retort, feel free, but the chances of you making a relevant point at slim-to-none.

You're just missing it, aren't you?

The phone itself, with no plan...is $700

AT&T subsidizes your purchase of the phone when you sign a CONTRACT with them.

If you buy the phone from an AT&T store, sans contract, meaning you have to pay the actual retail cost...it's $700

They sell it for less because they know that during your 2-year contract with them, they will make back the money. It's delayed gratification. A ploy to get you to buy the phone at a cheaper price and they rope you into a CONTRACT...try going in there and telling them your phone is broken and you need a new one...guess what, that $200 phone is now $700

And...it's still locked to AT&T.

Again, I'm really sorry you're having such a hard time understanding these concepts.

Maybe this is why the US is in so much national debt...it's citizens don't understand the most basic of economic principles.

damn dude come on NS to hook other kids up in the community. the phone doesnt go up 2x the price just cuz u spent like an hour unlocking and jailbreaking it and shit...

but whatever i have an iphone of my own so heres ur free bump

my friend bought an unlocked iphone 3g on ebay for 200 and doesnt have to pay anymore than that i would lower the price bro trust me itll sell quicker because this isnt gonna sell

This phone was bought at retail price for $700...so I'm already losing a fuck-ton of money on it, I'm not making money here.

haha, it doesn't matter how much you paid for it. I payed $1000 for fries at McDonalds once, no one would buy them for $500! I know WTF, I had to lower the price two $1 cause that is what it is worth. haha. I know you think this is dumb, but it is exactly what you are doing. Lower the price to $300 someone will bight at $250. Sell it for that!
