Actually, I had the older version (titanal 3) and skied them in and out of bounds, on terrain from ice to cliff drops, it really just depends on your weight/height, and how you ski. Right now I have a pair of 1-1/2 pound Dynafit bindings that I ski fairly aggressively in various conditions, and since I only have the din set at 7.5 its no problem.
It is true that these are not great for 200 lb freeride machine skiers, but if you want a binding you can mount to a one ski quiver, for backcountry and lift skiing, these are great. (especially for women and smaller people). I think they are sweet.
