Fruitbooting - Why does it suck so bad?

Snowboarding- relatively cool thing to do in the Winter. Skateboarding- a cousin of snowboarding that is just as cool or even cooler, and you can do it in the Summer.

Skiing- fucking awesome to do in the Winter, cooler than snowboarding. Rollerblading- you can do it in the summer not cool, at all, and real real gay. Human Giant says it best "the hardest part of rollerblading is admitting you're gay" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9q30Ce2vwE)

So my question is why does Skiing, the king of winter action sports, have such a fruity cousin. Why is Fruitbooting so damn fruity. I've seen edits, people do same CRAZY shit that I'd never attempt, but I just can't bring myself to not think its gay or to say that I think its stylish.

Thoughts? Also, you can't be offended by my "derogatory" use of "gay", I sucked like 10 different dicks today already

 
Theres a thread somewhere on ns that talks about inline as like the bastard extreme sport that gets overlooked and the pros dont get paid shit. Its sad but such is life
 
Rollerblading is scary as fuck and the guys that do it have huge balls. I can't even go down my driveway in those fucking things.

the great thing about rollerblading is it isn't filled with fucks worrying about being cool. it is for people who do it because it is fun and they enjoy it.

if you want to be cool and whear your fagget costumes stay involved in the skiing community, look like retarded jigaboos, and maybe even grab a scooter, or even better a bitchmade longboard! so innn right now!!! yea!
 
I personally think summer setups look more ridiculous than rollerblading. Rollerblading is the closest thing you can get to skiing on the off season.... and its fun as hell

I love the uncool sports. They don't think they're so fucking cool and end up looking like pretentious douchebags.

Skiing was like this once too, and I thought it was better then.
 
what do you mean by catch up, like become a trend whore sport? If you mean that, then that would suck and I wouldn't like rollerblading as much. As of right now if you are a rollerblader and you see other rollerbladers that you don't know, then you don't give a fuck about how good they are or what they look like, you're just glad you found another person who likes a sport enough to not give a shit about the douchebags that put them down. However it would be sweet if more people would rollerblade, just as long as we don't get douchbags ruining it.
 
fruitbooting peaked in popularity about the same time snowblades did. they'll both always be around but never considered mainstream "cool" anymore
 
Agreed.

I doubt it will ever come back to 90's levels and I don't mind. It didn't die, it just fell underground(for good I believe) and now the only people that do it are the ones that really just do it for the fun and love of the sport. I'll never give it up completely. It's fun as hell wearing shoes with wheels strapped to em.

Also, I'll go ahead and say Skateboarding is more technical and harder to perform the same trick(lets be honest they aren't really the same but you know what I mean) on the same course.

Example: 360 down a ten stairset. On a skateboard, pretty damn sketch and hard. On rollerblades, I could still do this easily and I'm by no means good at blading anymore.

On the flipside though, I think this is why skateboarders are so butthurt and hate blading so much. Anybody who knows their ass from a hole in the ground knows they are two different sports though and don't really compare.

Also, it's much less dead in any other country besides the US.
