Frontflip help

yuck

before you tell me to searchbar, or about the trick tip forum...

i have a specific question which cannot be searchbarred, and trick tip takes like, 18 hours to get a decent response.

anyways,

often when i frontflip i tend to go off axis and land on my side... i have no idea why this happens.

now i am missing out on a night of park skiing cuz i have a giant bruise on my thigh. so,

if anyone knows how i can eliminate this rotating thing, please tell me

+k

thanks.

this will sound, well, kinda strange but bear with me.

are your legs the same length? cause i have about a 4 cm difference in the bone length of my left leg to my right leg with my left leg being shorter. i have known about this for awhile because when i dont think about it i walk with a limp. now, when i first started trying flips of any kind i would always land on my left side, until i got a minor riser in my boots and under my bindings and now its fine.

it may be something like that. just a thought.

i kinda doubt that is it, but thanks anyways,

i think it may have something to do with me staggering my step when i take off. also, im kinda nervous about catching my tips or something, so i may sub-consiously rotate so my tips arent underneath me anymore...

if you are popping towards where the drop is why would you worry about catching your tips though if i can ask? i mean, when i do a drop and try to flip i dont start rotating until my tips are over air but my boots are still over solid ground.

^ yeah that's probably it. i bring my hands up over my head and throw straight down....or as many people would say, suck your dick in the air. just think about going straight around, and when you're dropping in, VISUALIZE IT. it helps so much, just visualize a perfect front flip

yeah, saying visualize it sounds cliche and well, sorry dude, gay, but it actually does work. if you think you wont make it, generally you wont, but if you do it will look horrible and you will land all fucked up.

can you backflip? and if so, are they on axis? this kind of goes along with the tip-catching thing, but a lot of people are afraid of actually going completely upside down, so even though they 'try' to flip, they end up not quite actually flipping over. it might just be a subconscious commitment problem

im pretty sure, gonna just take a whack at it, that your not throwing yourself straight, your going off the the side a little bit, turning one shoulder down a little. you gotta throw both your hands down to your feet, equally, and you should go striaght forward and not off to the side

^^^

word.

i'm pretty sure you're probably just throwing one of your arms or shoulders a little lower or harder than the other. the same thing happened to me in the summer with backflips. just throw both your arms and shoulders straight and with equal force.

And if you don't wanna get hurt go find a nice backcountry drop into hella pow. looks doper anyways

yeah i had the same trouble with backs and lincolns both turned into weird rodeo 5 things, for fronts just try and superman it out and really spot your landing before finishing the flip around, thats what i did and it helped me out

thanks everyone

i wish i had read all that before i went and tried them today,

although i mostly eliminated the corking problem, i still keep landing on my back.

try diving forward, dont "suck your dick" right away. if you try a superman flip, but make a reallly short superman, then you will spin faster. kinda like

1. dive

2. tuck "suck ya dick"

3. tuck even harder

4. land

i do a lot of mistys on tramps and stuff, so whenever i do/try frontflips i go to the side because i so much more comfortable/familiar with mistys

make sure u r going straight, and if u r trying a ninja flip u might knock ur self off axis. u also have to seriosly commit to it and stomp that shit. good luck

Commit. Thats all. Find a jump that you get enough air to get it around, nothing too big though. Maybe a 20 footer. Throw it like your doing it on the trampoline. Huck tuck land.

easy

i used to do that on a trampoline for a while. tuck your head straight down, not off to one side like i think your doing
