Friend's dad charged with fraud

A very close friend of mine told me today that his father had scammed roughly $1 million from a few people over the course of 6 years. I was devastated because this man had seemed like an awesome guy when I met him and wouldn't do that to people. The police arrested him on friday on 3 charges of fraud over $5000.

Now I have no sympathy for the man but my friend is absolutely crushed. Im just being the best friend that I can but its hard. I mean his father will be going away for at least 18 months and his entire family is essentially being harassed by the government who froze all of the families assets and is now putting the entire family, except for my friend, under investigation. Meaning he is the only one who can access maybe $2000 from his account. The worst part is that the few people who know about it don't know how to treat their own friend. Its disgusting. I know what its like to have a father who may not exactly be in the best books with the family so as of right now, Im the only guy who is sitting down with him and talking to him about it. I dunno, Its a lot to deal with and just needed to let that out.

Same thing happened to me. A guy lived right up the street from me. Good friends with his son and daughter, and the next thing I know he was arrested for fraud. Stole a couple thousand dollars from an old lady. Just keep on being a good friend to him because it would suck to have your dad gone, let alone in jail. He needs all the friends he can get right now.

just found out that the bartender at the golf course i work at was charged with fraud or something, aparently she was making fake money. i dont really care, she was pretty cool, but fucking dumb as shit if she thinks she can get away with it. it was benji's she was making too haha.
