I'm doing a school project for my business class (which is sadly in french) Are there any words that french people use as slang when they are skiing.

Eg. in english we say shred; what do you guys say in french????

MUCHO +K

Well, to be honest we mostly use english slangs.

The only equivalent to shred we have is... shred.

The only difference is that we prononce the number in french :

270 out --> deux sept out.

Also we use french words for some kicks and technical ski terms sometimes.

Hope it helps.

idk about french people but here in quebec we use the same word as you:shred,jib,land,stomped,afterbang,steezy,money,dope,sick...

sometime instead for saying money i say monaiiiieee(currency). i also say "c'est de la bombe" instead of "that was sick"

but i guess that only my crew use those word^

As people said before, everything is pretty much the same to describe lots of things. Here is a few words which are exactly the same we're using : ride, shred, jib, halfpipe, slopestyle, box, rail, jump, kick, line, kink, backcountry, pillow, grab, pow...

Tricks and grab names also remain the same, except translation for spin (360 540 etc).

Some stuff are also translated like type of rail (dfd is descente-plat-descente).

Hope it helped a little

envoyer du gros means sending it.

replaquer means to stomp.

il n' est pas venu acheter du terrain means litteraly he didnt come here to buy land, which means he is sending it super hard.

la peuf is powder.

cant think of anything else right now.

Yeah like the others are saying, we mostly use english words and to say the truth, I don't think we all use the same words cause I don't use most of the words that were said in this thread.

When I say I want to go ride, I say Je veux aller rider. I also noticed that people on here mostly say 270 on but here in quebec people mostly say 270 in.

that was sick as hell = calisse tu sort sa ou tes calisse de truc de crinker ?

shit was ill =stais bandant

powder = poudie

landing = landing

so not all english = quebec french
