Once you get your PSIA FS 1, how should you go about entering the freestyle teaching community at mountains? Planning for college next year, and I'm tired of teaching never-ever's. Should I go through the normal application process? Not trying to spend the $$ to get my FS cert if I won't be able to teach those classes

Just apply or contact the program director. Most clubs will pay for your USSA 100 once you are hired.

How does USSA differ from PSIA? Been working at small private owned mountain so I’m not particularly in-the-known about various certs and programs. Just got my Alpine 1 as a prerequisite to PSIA’s FS 1.

If you plan on coaching park/big mountain then you will want USSA or IFSA cert. They are designed around competition and building a solid pipeline for athletes. The two programs I have worked for ( Park City Ski Team and Jackson Hole Ski Club) mainly used USSA. PSIA is nice but really only used for ski school and not competitive programs
