Freestyle poles, Yay or Nay?

I've broken three sets of normal poles this season and fucking tired of buying more, was thinking of buying freestyle poles, the really bendy ones. They only good for park&pipe, or they decent all mountain poles too?

poles are poles, they will work the same in the park as they would anywhere else on the mountain, get some K2 6-speed or 4-speed poles

just stick to whatever you can get for cheap or free. paint them and make them look sick. and there yo uhave a sweet pole

just stop fucking falling on them. but i have armada poles and ive had them for about 4 months and they have no bends what so ever. most durable poles ive ever owned.

unless i was madd rich.. like money out the ass.. i wouldn't pay for poles, just take the rental poles

but why would you drop 50 bucks for poles when you can get them for free? i would much rather spend that 50 towards something i actually need

poles are poles. it's not like the 50 dollar poles you buy have some crazy new feature or anything. they're sticks with grips on the end. i know a ton of kids that have had joysticks or armadas and bought them for like 60 and they still break, so i don't want to pay 50 bucks for poles that still break.

I have these like 10 year old scott poles best thing ever. one tiny chip but there so nice i love them. just go to a thrift store or something because i think older poles hold up better

I went into my ski shop on New Years like 5 minutes after they closed. The owner was in a hurry to close so he could go out and get wasted. it went down like this:

"I'll give you 20 bucks for them," said Slandis

"They're $95 poles!" declared Rennie

"Fine!" exclaimed Slandis. "I'll give you $40!"

"How about $60?" asked the piss-ass brunt

"DEAL D00D!" yelled Slandis

and that's my story of the day.

same, i have some stolen retal scott poles they are so stong, its crazy, i used to bend poles like every month, the only thing that bothers me is the grip, but whatever, if you are skiing park you dont really need a good pair of poles, nomensteven said somethin about balence and weight, who gives a fuck

i no what u mean, ive used two hundread dollar carbon fiber poles, they were great poles i totally loved them, but the thing is i hated worrying about them, worryin about them snappin, paint chippin off or gettin stolen. thats why i use retal poles, no worrys

how do you guys break so many poles? ive broken 1 set in my whole life, jumping off some cat tracks on the park bully, pole got caught and snapped. never broken any skiing. i do use old ass poles, which in my opinion are a bit tougher, but still, i fall just as often and hard as the next guy, and never have i done anything besides bend um a lil.

lets define need, noun

1.noun- a requirement, necessary duty, or obligation.

Do u "need" specially designed poles to get down the mountain?

I sure hope not. Especially for park skiing, as well as most other terrain, any pole will do you fine. Unless some of you are skiing in the World Cup circuit. Just use cheap poles. Save your money for an education or a good pair of boots.

I have one pink kastle pole and one black scott pole. I used to have 2 pink ones but i busted one up after it got stuck in some branches on a tree run. I always pick up poles that people throw out on the mountain after they break one as long as theyre the right length. So now I have 3 more poles in my trunk that are the right length in case I break any of them. Even though theyre all different.

what ? thats ridiculous poles are just like, sticks that youve got in your hands that you can use to push yourself around, how could they affect your skiing at all ?
