Freestyle in College

Coach for a local program/team/club in my opinion. Free ski pass, decent money in some cases, and you get to ski a lot.

If i could do it all again, i would get good grades and go to Utah. UVM is great, but if you're ski focused... you cant beat the left coast.

Additionally, I moved from NY to CA at 24 years old, went to Pasadena city college and rode at Big Bear every chance I could. It was only 2 hours away, and was such a beautiful drive up into the mountains. Totally priceless, so gorgeous up there. Idk how the mountain is these days but it was heaven on earth for me back in 2016.

Would you say Utah over someplace like boulder or western Colorado…Thank you for the input!

Id say its rather similar in terms of COL, but The U is way closer to skiing by a longshot. Weather depending of course. Lots of my homies I skied/worked with back there are all U grads. The ski culture there is pretty awesome too. You'd fit in pretty great. Salt Lake is a pretty fun town for college kids too. Just don't go too overboard.

My friends that went all say it was incredible, as well as the skiing. I forget what hills the ride at but they go pretty often, and i remember seeing a rail jam for students one time.

Honestly, i dont know either very well but from where im standing it seems like you really cant miss. I have some friends that went to Boulder and never came back lol

Also, what would you study? It's all well and good saying I'm going to go skiing all the time, but how are you going to manage your time? Is what you are going to study something that you are going to enjoy learning about? One thing I wish I did was study something I wanted to learn. If you procrastinate tutorials and classes and assignments, the stress will leak into your skiing and make you not enjoy it.

I get that but I’ve already debated with myself whether I should go to college or not and I think for myself at least it’s a yes I don’t agree with the system but I’ll tolerate it in order to live a seemingly successful life which may be an unfortunate truth but the world I live in

If it's a reluctant yes to college, I would work first then go to college in your later 20s when you kind of have a better vision for yourself tbh

It's worth trying for a semester or two if you have the opportunity. The older you get the harder it will be to go back. It's definitely not for everyone, but I think it's worth that not many people actually enjoy the schoolwork. It won't be fun in a lot of ways but can be worth sticking with.
