Freeskiing's Golden Age 2005-2008

definitely an awesome time for the sport and i love watching edits from back then. tanner circa 04 and 05 is still my favourite skier to watch. but i think its a tall claim to say that it was the golden age, it was the same shit, everyone copying tanner instead of twall, and sw 10s instead of dub 12s in every comp. just the level wasnt as high..

i liked how punk, rock, and chill rap music where more prevalent in major ski films back in the day. The antics of McConkey and Brad Holmes gave skiing more playful vibe, and of course FREEZE magazine.
In the early 2000's freeskiing was like a teenager: young and reckless. Nowadays our sport has matured and grown into a huge industry.
but there are still alot of great things happening in freeskiing today.

Ughh..a thread filled with a bunch of old wet sappy vaginas. Don't complain...just go ski and love the sport as much as it has been loved for over a hundred years. Who says the golden age ever has to end.....

i do agree with the music thing. watching legs of steel was like looking into the past, and i thought it was great

I started skiing park in the 09-10 season. I wish I was part of the golden age :/ but I like skiing they way it is right now and don't really want it to change. I we

Fucking mobile. I want it to stay the way it is. Kinda underground, I like it that way. I like being or doing something not alot of people do. For example being a freeskier, or being the only kid at my school who wears jiberish. I really dot want it to go main stream and to the olympics

Skiing is skiing is skiing is skiing is skiing. The golden age was yesterday, is today and will be tomorrow.

in terms of movies and edits yes that was for sure the golden age. i havent bought a movie in the last 3 years that i didnt think was just a waste of money. but for me skiings just getting more and more fun.
