Freeride World Tour judges have been taking advice from X games judges

I know this site isn't massively into the FWT, but the judging today was so bad. The only thing they got right was Ross Tester won (spoiler sorry), it seems they have been watching how the X games judges work.

Kristofer Turdell and Carl Regner Eriksson did the same top line as Reine Barkered but Turdell added in an air of the chute and Carl did a massive three and got scored lower??

Huh, funny you say this. I agreed with the top5 but not the order and for me ross tester should not have won. I agree carl regner got underscored though, although he didnt ride the top too clean. Drew tabke underscored too. I got most hyped off Barkered, Turdell and Navarro, i was screaming when he crashed.

FWT has steadily been becoming more new schoolers than boomer gravity every year, pretty soon the boomers are going to be bitching about “park tricks” on the FWT

I feel like people that dont watch it are missing out. Like these guys throw massive backies, throw sketchy 3's and most of the time in less than ideal conditions in super gnarly terrain, i know a lot of people wont think this but just skiing those faces well would be sick nevermind throwing a trick or charging hard in shit conditions.

he definitely got some whiplash from hitting that bank at mach 10.

the only thing that let ross down was the lower section cos he didnt fancy eating shit on a flat landing at the bottom.

i think they just scored Reine too high to start with so it left no room for them to fit better runs in there.

I think that might prove my point

It was cool to have Tanner on the tour give some real perspective on just how fuckin sketch that terrain is and how much skill those guys have.

I dont know why the competitions dont wait until there is like a fresh 4 ft of snow. Many of the competitions ive seen seem to have ppl hucking flips off cliffs into rock hard snowpack. Makes watching a smooth slopestyle run feel like opium in comparison.

they gave reine a high score because has was first runner, they can't keep giving high scores

they didn't even score anybody past 91, I believe. Plenty of room to place more people above Reine

I'm a huge FWT fan, but feel like the FWT has kind of gone downhill over the past few years (2017+). It's still enjoyable to watch and riding is still good, but judging has been a little weird and I feel like I've being seeing the same lines and same tricks each year. Also #BringbackHaines

Aymar's high consequence lines are wayyyy sicker that watching the kids throw bullshit 3s off wind lips.

Yeah man, I agree. The faces are becoming to familiar to the athletes, nullifies visual inspection. I understand they gotta have resort affiliations etc. but lets get new start zones, and faces. and yeah need to bring back Alaska.
