Freeride Ski length for 190cm+ (6,2ft+)

Hey I know, the question for ski length is kinda useless because it really depends on the skiers preference but I think this might be interesting whatsoever.

To all the taller skiers here, what ski length do you use for your backcountry trips. Usually one aims for skis that are longer than oneself for freeriding but since 192cm is often kinda the max range im kinda struggling to decide what to go with.

Im trying to decide between two skis and one of them has a max length of 188 cm (4cm shorter than me). Do you think this is already a disadvantage.

I know it wont be a huge difference and I could also go freeriding on 140cm skis but since its a kinda expensive purchase i want the best what i can get.
 
Im 6'2 on 192s and they are more than enough ski 90% of the time. Flex and rocker profile is probably gonna make a bigger difference.
 
I’m 6’2 and ride 192’s, 188’s, and 185’s. I notice a difference between the 185’s and 192’s but if you’re worried about the difference between a 192 and a 188 I’d be willing to bet you’ll never feel the difference.

If you ski trees a lot go with the 188 but if you like to open it up a bit then I’d go with the 192 for sure.

Also like the other dood said, I’d be focusing on how thick your sidewalls are and how stiff the flex is if you’re a big guy. The heavier the ski the better in my opinion for us bigger doods.

I’m also 6’2” and I ride all 190+ skis granted my all mtn ski arv106 only comes in 188 at longest and honestly it skis almost the same as my 192s so this difference there really doesn’t come into play. Honestly it just comes to what you’re wanting outta the ski.
 
beeing tall, and a skier sucks when you wanna find skis.

beeing tall in general sucks for skiiing, only good tall skier is ahall.

apres ski beeing tall is nice.

Atomics ski pretty small. I’d advise on the k2s between those two.

have you thought about on3p? Their skis are true to size. I believe they still make 190+ options

yes but they are to expensive for my taste
