"freeride climbing"

I started rock climbing a couple years ago, and being a skier i`ve always wondered why there isn`t any competition format where everyone has to climb a boulder or something and get scored higher for finding a creative and hard line up it and also get points for style while climbing it (for example doing unnecesary heel hooks and weird moves), instead of just being about who gets higher on the same line.

p.s im not high

I hate being negative but I really don't the culture of rock climbing grabbing onto that. Climbers tend to be all about refinement, getting every little thing done right. Once everything is just right, they execute on a big route they've had written down for a long time. That's why bouldering looks so boring to an outsider, the climbers like it as it allows them to work on the really fine details. Traditional competition showcases that refinement the best, see who has mastered the moves. Making it about style puts that aside.

i totally get some climbers just want to check climbs of certain grades from their list but there seems to be a decent amount of people (mostly the "film" climbers) that are just looking for the "coolest" looking rocks with the weirdest beta not even grading them, kind of how freeride skiing went from claiming ski decents of known peaks (even side slipping counts) to being all about creative, fluid lines.

example of said climbers

No theirs a competition like this I think. But more of a race than things like line choice and technique

I'm not much of a climber so I might be wrong about this but one issue with "freeride climbing" would be that for more advanced moves, there's only a few ways (or even one) to physically do it. Based on that, I don't think that it would be very popular amongst traditional climbers because in order to express unique style you'd need to be on easier routes/faces. It would be cool to see something like a combination of parkour and climbing on mellower faces where people could actually pull some super creative stunts.
