I'm really digging the old school hip hop mix, I love the old school stuff so much. Thanks man!

luck has nothing to do with it- i've put in years of work to call DJing my "job"... which is the most degrading way you could ever look at what we do. it's not a fucking job.

im not exactly sure of the seriousness in the tone of your post.. but you're absolutely right, it takes a lot of hard work to get places. although, sometimes luck does play a part in some of the hook ups you get.

i'm not quite sure how you could call it degrading to refer to dj'ing as a job. sure it isn't the average everyday work style... but at the end of the day it pays my rent and puts food on my plate. i don't call it a job to say it's a burden for my time.. its just what i do for income, and i absolutely wouldn't trade it for any other style of work at this point.

I'm super cereal, but not as pissy as I came off in that post.

I don't see DJing as my "job"... I see the networking, all the pounding the pavement that goes on as the "work". When I DJ for other people (or even just for myself, really), I see that as the time I have to just let go of whatever worries I have and just throw myself into something. It's an emotional experience for me and is closer to therapy than any kind of "job". I agree that there's certainly a lot of work involved with being a DJ, but I've never seen the actual act of mixing as being a part of that work. The work that's involved with DJing is what enables you to spin at clubs, parties, festivals, etc- not the DJing itself.

Furthermore, none of the success you've enjoyed as been luck, dude. You've put yourself in the position through years of practicing your craft and networking to take full advantage of the opportunities that are presented to you. Sometimes they fall in your lap, sometimes you work for years to accomplish them, but everything you've accomplished has been because you sent yourself in the right direction. Don't give Lady Luck the credit you rightfully deserve, man.

well said, i fully agree.

i guess the term "pleased" or something along those lines would have been a better fit versus lucky.

great work on the recent mix btw.
