Fratboys?

pretty fuckin ignorant since you have no clue what you're talking about!

another thing, think of something better to say than, "you're buying your friends"

as long as you're not rushing a frat at CSU i'm not gonna judge. every single frat kid here is a complete and utter tool. but hopefully it's different wherever you are.

really, I have no idea? Why don't I just get up and walk acros the street to the frat and ask how much it costs just to pledge? Frat's are good for one thing, cheap booze, show up, take there shit, and leave. But if you think it's cool to buy your way into their club, and make friends because you want to give away cheap booze, and bang freshman/ highschool girls for the rest of your life, than give 'er, because frankly you are the ignorant one.

wow, you're an idiot. It's less to live there and pay fees, food (they have a fulltime chef and a sick house), and internet and such than to live in the dorms. Do you know how much community service they do too? Frats that aren't completely shitty do tons of good stuff. Ass.

Haha, you dont know shit man. At least at my school, you have to pay the membership fees + housing fees to live in the house, and is a shitload more than the dorms or an apartment.

hahahaha ya, I dont know shit about my school. It's 3600 bucks a semester for everything, including food at the frat (Parents pay for everything, mind you) and living at the dorm is 5-6000. NICE TRY THOUGH BUD!

I'm a pledge this semester too. All of the kids here who hate on fraternities have no idea what they are talking about. when I entered college last semester, I thought that they were gay as hell, and I didn't want to "buy my friends." Well then I started to learn more and more about fraternities.

These guys are more than just your friends. You wouldn't believe the power some of these fraternities have. Alumni support is so vital too. It's rediculous how much they help us out. They bought new furniture and carpet for the house, they hold meet and greet banquets with established Alumni. It's such a great way to make connections. Just as a PLEDGE I have met more accomplished doctors who want to help me out more than anything.

A lot of fraternities keep things like previous versions of teachers tests on file to help you study. Also we have a library of text books... so you don't have to buy them all the time.

And I didn't even mention parties. Only the finest girls on campus... all cans, no keg lines. And you don't have to worry about the asshole dudes showing up either. We let in good friends and things like that though. Honostly I think this was the best college decision I've made.

Just stick with it man, and just make sure you choose the right one. I thought long and hard about which one i was going to rush. Each one is different. I mean you could end up with one of those Animal house frats, or you could choose one that is very profession and still knows how to have a good time.

I'm an idiot? you have to pay money just so they can think about letting you in, Yeah, it might be cheaper than the dorms, but so is everyother off campus housing option. Not to mention being in a frat means you develop a sence of arrogance. Frat's are stupid, living for the next party is no way to go through life, and there is a reason frat boys only get freshamn girls, because girls get smarter afterwards.

Even if you guys don't like frats, you will appreciate that in the basement, there's a ski tuning/ptexing station thingy.

Just to let you know, with the exception of 5 or so times EVER, I don't drink and I don't party. So I don't live from one party to another.

wow, you've made "connections", How about you get off of your lazy ass and go out and do things for yourself. I meet people all the time, just by walking around our department, and asking questions. As for the finest girls, try the finest freshman, and the ones that are gauranteed to put out. ANd you worry about douche bags showing up, well maybe you should try paryiong outside of frats, where people are actually invited to parties. But it sounds like having an exclusive mentality, by only allowing "cool" people in means you've pretty much been brain washed doesn't it.

haha I love you idiots. go right ahead you can stereotype fraternities all you want. Because thats what we do. "We live for the next party."

Every week we have group study hours. Every month we do community service. In fact tomorrow I'm giving blood at the blood drive we organized with other fraternities.

YES there are some really bad frats who take advantage of girls and what not. who let their house rot to shit, and get horrible grades. but not all are like that. fraternities can be really helpfull. my one friend who is now a brother said his grades actually went up by .3 since he joined. If you look for a decent fraternity, you'll love your decision.

try 1-2000 tops a semester. for renting an apartment plus food. and honestly, if you guys were all that great, you would go and do volunteer work on your own, but you only do it to protect your image, and have a mask to hide behind. The university offers study sessions all you need, and has plenty of scoops. I mean, i geuss the cool part about frats, is you never wear anything but your letters, smell like shit, and you get 16 year olds to fall all over you because you can get them free drinks.

I volunteer at ALS (Lou Gehrigs disease) every week as well as the foodshelf. I'm also in the process of trying to figure out what hours I can volunteer at the hospital. Again, nice try.

Tennessee Tech University, its $5,600 for a full year for the rooms and meal plan.

And hell, I'm going there for free anyway, and I'm not really in college anyway. I'm just taking classes up here instead of my senior year of highschool, but I still live in the dorms and shit.

I don't advise calling a person with 18 credits, a 15 hour a week job, and a volunteer "lazy".

But thats ok... cause we frat boys, just sit around the house, drinking and waiting for the freshman girls to come over right???

And also, Do I really care about how much I could live an apartment for? My parents are paying for college and such stuff as the frat.

wow, you all on your own, that's one in how many of you? and are you really doing that shit on your own because it's the good out of your heart or is it because somebody somewhere wants you to do it? What req's are you filling? And really, frat's are not cheaper than living in an apartment, or renting a house with friends you made on your own.

Nobody's making me do anything. I volunteer all on my own. Considering the fact that I'm not paying for college, I realize that there are many people not as well off and as lucky as me, so what's the harm in volunteering and making somebodys life just a little bit better?

Wow again you are a spoiled little bitch, you don't care that your parents are spending more money than they need too on you? It seems like you really don't care about any one else other than your posh frat ass.

again your parents are paying for you. I volunteer with big bros/ big sisters, and help kids out all the time at the ski hill bike trails etc. I'm paying on my own, I stand on my own two feet, what do you do? Honestly bragging aboout your parents is nothing cool, I bet you don't buy your own skis, clothes etc. DO you even have a job or are you still on allowance? What can you do on your own? Probably nothing.

No, i didnt pay for skis or clothes. I work 20 hours a week as well. That's great that you do big brother, that's very respectable. Just because my parents worked hard and were able to buy me stuff doesn't mean I'm not grateful. If you're parents offered to pay for your skis, clothes, college, car, etc, would you turn it down? I doubt it.

I do notice that most people in the frats around here really arent independant from their parents at all. Not saying that you shouldnt be close to your family or anything, but it's time to start standing on your own.

haha, funny, becaus my parents stopped paying for everything starting in 9th grade, and they worked hard and made money? Bullshit, the guy that works for min wage at mcdonalds works harder than anybody else, the road workers, they have more respect from me than you will ever recieve. I geuss Just because my dad is a cop in a low pay area means he doesn't work hard? My mom is a speach therapist, and she helps kids with head trauma? No my parents didn't work hard at all. Don't get into a my dad can beat up your dad fight with me, because I will go over there and kick your ass right now. And I wouldn't let my parents pay for shit anyways because I've got two brothers that aren't old enough to have jobs, and need stuff more than me. Just quit.

I didn't say you're parents didnt work hard. It's a difference in demographics and such. Thats great that you support yourself too.
