Fourcast 2 Teaser (Snowmobile movie)

I realize this is the Ski/Snowboard forum, but there are quite a few of us that use snowmobiles for backcountry access. I bought my first snowmobile 4 years ago for ski access and along the way discovered that a face shot is a face shot regardless of how you attained it. (Likewise with airtime)

This is a movie shot almost entirely in the Whistler Backcountry by former Snowboard cinematographer Jorli Ricker of Highmark Films. Most s

nowmobile movies are poorly shot and edited, thus making them hard to watch or stay entertained. Jorli is a superb cinematographer, and we spent a lot of long days in the backcountry to get the early mor

ning and late evening light. I'm beyond stoked to have been a part of this project.

Just thought I'd share with you guys, a lot of these riders ski and snowboard as well. Most of this terrain also gets skied or appears in MSP/TGR movies, there is no place on earth I'd rather live than here in Whistle

r and this winter was absolutely absurd with how much snow we got. Just a different way to look at the mountains and all the different ways you can travel in them. This movie includes powder riding, some hillclimbing, tree riding, jumping and hucking, quite a broad scope of different styles of riding.

Hope you enjoy! It'll be available for purchase or download on itunes August 15th.

I might buy this just because Jorli is involved. He made the best mountain bike movie of all time in "Ride to the Hills" and I always wondered what happened to him.

Side note, a friend of mine hit Rocker Gap on Guardsman Pass on a snowmobile recently. So gnar.

Jorli was doing all the principal cinematography for Slednecks the past 3 winters, then this past year he decided to make a sequel to his earlier sled movie, "Fourcast". He also has a full length segment of his own riding in Fourcast 2, not only is he a phenomenally talented cinematographer but he's an extremely gifted athlete as well.

Your friend who hit Rocker Gap, does he film with the Boondockers guys? I worked with them last winter, I know Stephen Darcy and Phatty hit it last year, it's a pretty gnarly gap! It made the cover of the movie last year, photo was taken by Ski photog Steven Lloyd.

Jorli does such a great job between the actual concept development, filming, and editing. He makes a way higher end product than most other sled movies available out there, and gets that there needs to be some sort of concept and story rather than just chopping up sub par action footage together. We were out late every film day and got back way after dark, usually getting home by 11 or 12pm when the sun was setting at 5pm, I saw some of the most phenomenal sunsets of my life this winter.

Some pics from filming.

Even I don't have a brand new sled, bought mine 2nd hand this fall. You'd be surprised what you can do with an older sled...

It was Steve. I used to ride bikes with him occasionally before he quit to sled exclusively.

And the pics from your winter look epic! Much better than Utah's!

Ya i got an old sled and it works fine and get's me pretty much everywhere, but you can definitely do a lot more with a new pimped out sled! haha

I don't have time to watch the teaser right now.. But seems sick! You rip on your sled and I know Whistler has it all but you guys should really come up to AK next season.

Trust me, I've been trying to get up to AK for the past 2 springs in April for Tailgate AK, but it's around $2000 in gas, 2 days of driving each direction and every time I've had something lined up people bail out last minute or the publications/articles funding the trip get nixed. I might ship my sled next year and fly up, it's about half as expensive. Definitely on the bucket list, the thompson pass and turnagin pass look pretty epic as well! But 7000km of driving is a lot.
