Fort Collins

Hey guys, I'm going to be going to Colorado State next year and I know fort collins isnt by the mountains but I didnt know if there were any ski resorts there. Like just ski hills or whatever. Any iformation you can give me would be awesome.

winter park is 2 hrs away, copper is a little longer. there is real good backcountry though if you go up cameron pass (1-1.5 hr drive) as long as you're willing to hike a little. me and my buddies all have snowshoes for that purpose, and there's plenty of snow to build a fattty booter....we haven't even found the best locations yet probably.

I live in the fort and have 5 mountain vailresorts pass. 1 hr 50 min to keystone breck abasin. 30 min more for vail/beaver. Do it twice a week no big deal, just as close as Denver.

I live in fort collins, the drive to the resorts is not that bad 2hr if you drive slow or hit traffic. Camron pass has bad ass Backcountry thats only an hour away

dont talk shit,

just ski.

thanks for the info guys. i have to admit, moving out to fort collins sounds good, but skiing is 2 hours away! thats going to drive me NUTS. i ski like 4 or 5 days a week here in michigan. i wonder if my skiing will get better or worse.

yo guys. i'm in the fort too. one thing i did when going throuhg school, was to make my schedule so that i had as many week days off as possible. even if it meant taking night classes. also, try to find or make friends with someone who lives in summit county. there is probably a bunch on this site. then, borrow their couch for a night or two so you can get multiple ski days w/o having to do the drive. pay em back with weed, money, beer, or ass.

yeah or just go up to the mountain by yourself, and ride the lifts with kids that look cool until you find one that lives closeby, then smoke him/her out hardcore and they will let you stay at their crib anytime. worked for me on three separate occasions this year

the closest ski resort is a really shitty place in Wyoming cLLED snowey range. it is a ski resort with a lift but they have a tent for a base lodge. i have no idea about their perk or even if they have one. i have not been there in a long time they are so shitty! there is no way Abasin is 1 hour 50 min, you must leave at 4 in the morning! traffic is so shitty through the Isenhower or howeverthefuck you spell it tunnel. and thne you have to quit skiing at like 2 or 230 in order not to get stuck agaqin on the way back. Eldora is actually closer then snowy range but that is really shitty too but not as bad is snowy range but alot more expensive.

^Unless you're tyrin to fuck with the poster, you said a lot of wrong stuff:

Snowy range's base lodge was a tent for a year because the base lodge burned down. If you haven't been there in a long time, then you wouldn't weven know that the base lodge was a tent. I do agree that it is small and shitty

A-basin is 1 hr and 50 (106 miles from my house in ft. collins), and, why would u go through the tunnel to get to a-basin unless the pass is closed?

Cats. the other white meat.

well i fucked up about the going through the tunnel part although you ahv eto go through it to get to alot of other good places. 1 hour 50 min? mabey it is jsut that i am a human beaing and i wake up at a human beaing type time and not at 3 in the morning so there is traffic becuase it is usually atleast 2 hours 15 min or so for me. sometimes longer on the way back.

and my firend said there was a tent at snowey range last time he went and then he went at the end of that season and he said it was still there so i figured it was still there but i guess not

^ I have no idea what you are talking about I wake up at 6:30 and stop for breakfast and to pick people up in golden and am at the base waiting for the lift to open. 3 or 4 in the morn. is a little unrealistic.
