best. movie. ever

great soundtrack too

"i've never named a boat before, but there's only one name i could think of, the most beautiful name in the whole wide world...

Jenny."

hell yeah. haha, i watched it twice in a row on spike today. im assuming that was the inspiration for this thread.

quite true. i came home and it was on t.v

seriously brings tears to my eyes every time i watch it

the script is so damn intricate too. the way the dialouge and his narration cue up

and all the historical shit that weaves in

-"Have you found Jesus yet Gump?"

-"I didn't know I was supposed to be looking for him sir"

ehh...forrest gump was pretty good....but i think simple jack was wayyyy better

-"no but i've been on a really big boat."

"now you wouldnt believe me if i told you, but i can run like the wind blows...everywhere i went after that, I was RUN-IN"

"Gump! What is your sole purpose in this army?"

"To do whatever you tell me, drill sergeant!"

"God damn it, Gump! You're a god damn genius! That is the most outstanding answer I have ever heard. You must have a goddamn I.Q. of 160."

"no sir we are not of relation"

"better tuck in that lip, could get it caught on a tripwire"
