Forre is possibly the best urban skiing out there, their creativity is wild. Joona Sipola in my opinion is one of my top 10. How do they even find that stuff and not get arrested?

Why would they get arrested? People in Finland are mostly just curious about what they are doing. Police doesn't care because they aren't breaking the law. They are not bothering anyone with urban skiing.

They are definitely the gnarliest crew out there right now.

Yea you have a point.

finland is a very winter sport oriented country. there are sledding hills, ski areas, xc tracks and ice rinks all over the place. urban skiing is most of the time thought being the same as little kids sledding down a hill. people are curious about what’s going on and i’ve heard that some times total random people help at the spot. great place to live

and (anyone) correct me if I’m wrong but you can’t really sue in Europe and if you do it doesn’t really do anything financially, so I feel like that’s a huge factor too.

i say this because I’ve gotten booted from spots and the person at the business or church or whatever who busts us, pretty much tells us it’s a liability and they can’t guarantee that we won’t sue them if something goes wrong, which makes sense coming from their perspective.

I’ve heard of a similar thing with motocross. Some of my buddies getting kicked off people’s land for riding after being allowed to ride on it previously. Not becaude the landowner didn’t want them riding, but because if one of the riders got real hurt, ended up in a super bad situation couldnt afford the medical side of things, you’d have no other option than to sue to survive physically and financially. Which kinda makes sense honestly.

I would gladly sign a waiver though if some school district didn’t care if I was seshing their DFD but were concerned about the legal side of things. Lol.

forre on another level no doubt, joona so slept on goodamn, does armada even pay him?

child labor makes better videos though imo

You can sue but you probably lose if you got hurt skiing something that wasnt meant for skiing. And its not a easy cashgrab as it seem to be in usa where atleast what ive heard you sue eachother all the time ?.

Is joona gonna have a new kit this year or is he still gonna be rocking the tight white pants and blue wizard hood that he has been wearing for like 3 seasons? I hope he never changes

Would be pretty hilarious if someone hurts themselves skiing a handrail in the park and sues the city over it

I think it's safe to say that, culturally speaking and in terms of numbers of cases, it's a much more common thing, and is more normalized in north america vs europe. I think it's complicated cuz there's a lot of countries in Europe that have different laws. I think the idea of seeking punitive damages in order to punish a wrongdoing or recklessness that causes injury is much much more common in the US, whereas it would be seen as less normal in some European countries. I think it's a more prevalent view in europe that civil lawsuits should be used for compensation for some loss, but not used punitively, and any sort of punishment should be handed out by the criminal justice system. I'm very much talking out of my ass here. I'm not a lawyer but I'd be curious to know what an actual lawyer or law student thinks about this.

It's moreso that in America citizens and cops don't know their rights. There's a reason homeless people camp in the middle of downtown areas, if they could legally be removed they would be lol

Yeah that's nor really the case here, we have fines and jail to punish for crimes. If you sue for damages they have to be based on something, like you medical expenses or the cost of fixing your stuff someone broke. You can't sue for a million just because you feel like it.

Also someone has to more or less actively cause the acident to be sentenced, just having a handrail in your yard doesn't make you faulty if someone cracks their head skiing it.

Think ab it tho, if crews did this (we’re still not sure how realistic it is) and people signed it, it could open an entirely new lane for spots that have never been hit

Dan Brisse literally did this and it worked and he hit some of the most ridiculous spots of all time

Yeah kinda. Basically he was able to convince some low level receptionists and property managers which was enough to get the shots, but I don't think an actual lawyer or company executive would ever accept something like that because it's essentially signing paperwork to allow people trash your property.

I’m pretty sure L1P did this in their very early years but gave up because it ended up not being worth the hassle
