Formula for my Tattoo - feedback?

Everyone always asks WHY:

The fire represents my inner spirit; the flames of passion and determination inside of me, which fuels everything I do.

Design-wise, itll be like it's escaping out of my shoulder.

Also I'm very patriotic haha, I LOVE Canada

It's going to be on my left shoulder, engulfing my deltoid, and meeting the crease of where shoulder meets arm, but not going past it.

This will be the style of tearing flesh where the fire will be escaping from, although i haven't fully decided if i shoulder do this, or have charcoalled flesh, like its burning from the inside-out.. (opinions?)

and because im so patriotic, and will proudly represent, and wear a canadian flag on me for my entire life, this will be incorporated into the fire. it will be faint, but still noticeable:

Before anyone asks, I have already found an EXTREMELY talented artist that has been tattooing for 18 years, and in the recent years, did a sleeve on my dad, with the most intricate detail I've ever seen. It's unbelievable, and I'm very excited to work with her. Finding an artist with enough talent isn't a problem.

So what does NS think?

Any ideas that could make it even better?
 
real talk, this design (yours) sounds so unique and must be "you". I admire this and am gonna take the same aproach when I get my first.
 
I see where you're coming from, and was sort've thinking the same thing, but AT THE SAME TIME, I think it would work.

The 1st picture is purely for the style of skin texture, so that's 1 piece of the art.

It will have a canadian flag centre-piece inside (4th picture), so that's part-2.

Around, and engulfing the flag; escaping the shoulder, will be the flames (picture 2).

And if there's any space that needs to be filled, it will be filled with picture-3.

So I believe it will work, and it will look amazing!
 
its not really gonna be a burning flag, its just gonna be like a chasm of fire, and a faint image of the flag will be incorporated into it
 
dude i think we should make it a rule that you AREN'T allowed to show your tattoos in anymore tattoo threads...because they are ugly...sorry for being meanhave a good day
 
oh and i agree with whoever posted about doing what you wantyou are putting art on YOUR body so do what you want...that being said just make sure it doesn't look like a pile of garbage^^^^^^^^
 
Just wrap some barbed wire around the flames and you're good to go. Maybe have the design of the flames inspired by tribal tats as well.
 
I came in here thinking you were going to get a mathematical formula tattooed on your body and I was super stoked...but now I am disappoint
 
Go with the flames coming out of the torn skin. the charred skin would look weird. And get the flag as a seperate tattoo, or somhow make the flames twirl into a maple leaf
 
Haha i wish i had a burning flag ripping out of my flesh, get like a beaver in your flag in your fire in your skin.
 
BLS skull???? sick. oh and OP unless you do the charcoal skin idea it will look fucking stupid, the skin has to be affected by the flames to give it any form of dimension and reality.
 
didnt read any replys but i have a feeling a canadian flag engulfed in flames could come across the wrong way for alot of people...
 
if there's no good artists where you are, travel to somewhere there is. or go to a convention.

I don't understand the logic of not paying more for a better tattoo.

and I would like to see a better quality picture of that tattoo, so I can actually see the quality of the shading.

does this guy have an online portfolio?
