Forced family ski trip

ok so my parents called me today and told me that were going on a family ski trip to Colorado the beginning of jan . its all well and good that im getting a free trip, however i was supposed to go to whistler with some friends where i would be able to drink, however i have to go with my family to Colorado. most people would be happy with a trip like this, howenever we are going out there strictly to ski bumps, which i do and suppose am ok at. howenver, if im going out west, i want to ski pow . not bumps , i could ski them back here on the east coast. anyone know if MaryJane, any of those big bump places have decent pow or parks ? not that it would matter.... i wouldnt go ski paark or pow alone. but if yall wanna meet up i love meeting new poeple.
 
oh and I'm workin in the little village thing, I can hook you up with some dope coffee and deli sandwiches and shit!
 
Copper and WP are pretty close in terms on their parks. They get about the same ammount of snow too. You should tell you parents to reschedual.

Keystone, Hit up hike stuff off of the outback lift and the surrounding trees, Vail, if you can't find gnarly terrain your not looking hard enough. Never actually been to Winter Oark
 
Hey if i had a free trip to colorado I wouldn't be complaining

if would rather take a free ski trip to colorado than 2 or 3 days drinking with friends. You can drink anywhere-anytime but you can't ski anywhere-anytime.

But that's only my opinion
 
Winter Park, Keystone and Vail have a few of the best parks in Colorado. They also have some really good skiing in general.
 
quit your bitching ive never skied outwest and i cant because i cant afford it your lucky your getting a free trip
 
well, i guess your other trip would have been really sick, but as everyones alrady said, its still gonna be fun and youre lucky cause most kids are happy to go on any trip
 
If you're going to make rash generalizations, that must mean it's ok for me to assume you can't ski bumps or powder since you're a racer.
 
jeesh high expectations..haha im the same way as you whenever i go on a trip out west im like yeah its gonna snow about 20 inches every day im there
 
honestly i drink a shitload but i dont think you realize how lucky you are. when and if i ever do get a chance to go out west i dont wana ruin it with drinks the nite before, ive skied hungover so many godam freakin times and it sucks. why dont you just go to ski, ski wahtever u want, and when you come back to the east come down to umass amherst to party. im sure you kno andy p come down wit em we will rage it haha.
 
you said however a lot in that post. And I agree, I never went out west when I was in school because my parent's didn't even ski. I had to find my own way to our local mountain a lot. I'm tired of hearing sob stories about whistler or colorado. You know what, I'm gonna be skiing ice when your "stuck" in CO with your family. Be more grateful.
 
This thread would have gone better if you would have just asked if the popular bump places had good powder. Now you just seem like a whiny bitch.
 
i realy dont understand why people come to colorado and chose to go to copper or winter park over breck or keystone.

with that said, come to breck. 6 chair accesses a bunch of bump runs then there are the double blacks under the peak 8 super connect lift. mach 1 and tiger are the most notable.

i realy dont think i need to talk about how good the park is. if you dont know you live under a rock.

as far as powder goes, we have the highest lift accessed terrain in north amarica, and if you know where to go you can ski fresh pow for 3-4 days after a storm. you just have to know where to go.

keystone is alright if you like bombing groomers, the park liks donkey balls, just cause they have 1 good cat driver doesent mean shit. ive injuried myself 5 times in the last 3 years, 4 of those have been at keystone because of improperly built features. they did open a bunch of sick new hike terain though. but its hike in hike out so yeah. vail is vail, and ive never been to winter park.

must be nice to have parents like that! mine are going to tremblant in 2 weeks with my ski club. are they taking me? no! im paying for myself to go with friends in january.

oh yeah, and you can still drink here. people drink on the hill. pete o passed out in the middle of out 80ft step up last year.
 
fucking finally... someone who knows what i am saying. i am the only person in my family that fucking skis so my parents have never and will never take me skiing
