Forbes top college list

Didn't take the list seriously when MIT didn't even make the top 10. Or when like John Hopkins was like 50th.

#97 (NYU)

The other school that I came really close to attending (UChicago) got #4. I was considering trying to transfer next year (due to finances) and this is making me consider it even more seriously.

straight from the article:

The rankings are based on five general categories: post graduate success (32.5%), which evaluates alumni pay and prominence, student satisfaction (27.5%), which includes professor evaluations and freshman to sophomore year retention rates, debt (17.5%), which penalizes schools for high student debt loads and default rates, four-year graduation rate (11.25%) and competitive awards (11.25%), which rewards schools whose students win prestigious scholarships and fellowships like the Rhodes, the Marshall and the Fulbright or go on to earn a Ph.D. The complete methodology is available here.

the whole thing is based on success after graduation

I read that, but why don't they disclose the scores each of the schools got in each of those categories then...?

Cause right now when i click on the individual schools they give me some bullshit stats that I don't care about... Or am i looking at the wrong place.

Love it. There were only 5 in the top 100 that were under $45,000. Most were well above $50,000. Better be a great fucking school if I am putting out $200,000 for 4 years before books and all that other jazz.

#462 on the list.

We are the second largest school in the nation however. And people always think we are a tiny school.

they only listed out of state tuition on those costs, which includes a full meal and housing plan...which are usually more expensive than finding those yourself (depending if you can cook for yourself or not)

my brother is up in arms over this. He goes to William and Mary and he says no WAY is UVA>W&M. He claims all the VA kids want to go to W&M and the kids who dont get in there go to UVA

#29 (Colorado College)...dope. probably not going there next year, the reason so many people are so successful in these schools though is partially because they have the cushion of large bank accounts to support them if they can't find jobs right after school. not the whole reason, but the majority of these schools are supremely whitewashed...

Nevermind. This list really isn't even based on quality of education so I'm not gonna let it sway my decision.

This seems pretty off….

Kalamazoo College in front of Johns Hopkins?

Colgate ahead of Cal Berkley?

Bucknell above Michigan?

Connecticut College in front of Wash U?

uhhhhhh

Ya, lake forest college is in one of the most affluent towns in America. It isn't even a good school, the kids who go there just have parents with deep pockets.
