For those of you who shoot raw...

what do you use for post? i try to not edit as much as i can, but i have been messing around with raw recently and i find that when i import into lightroom, it only shows the raw image and doesnt bring with it any of the settings that i have on my camera (whereas nikons software will recognize them, and the photo looks like it did when i shot it) making my photos look a little flat and unsaturated unless i tweak them. i know that this is the case because when i import, it shows the jpg preview while it loads the raw, then when the raw is loaded, it looks different then the jpg did (and i googled the problem and came up with similar results)
i would just use nikons software (capture nx) but it kinda sucks IMO compared to other programs in terms of user interface, so what do you guys use? i like lightroom for everything except this one annoyance with raw files. it would be nice to shoot raw in case i need to do some tweaking to white balance and stuff, but its not worth it if i have to tweak the settings all the time to even get the photos to look how they did when i shot them

i personally use adobe bridge which is linked with adobe camera raw. with cs4 you can do do pretty much the same things you can do in photoshop. it costs a pretty penny but if you can find a good torrent its worth it

^will those import my camera settings as well? i ask because i belive that lightroom and bridge/ps are all using similar things because they are all adobe.
and for refrence, here is what i am talking about
what it looks like in capture nx without tweaking anything and my camera:

what it looks like in lightroom without tweaking anything:

when you export from Lightroom, are you using 8 bit or 16 bit? Check to see if there is an auto correction feature.
What I do is import my photos, and only use Bridge/Camera Raw and or Lightroom.

16 bit. it wouldnt be that though because it happens in the "develop" and library sections of lightroom too, so it isnt just happening after i export (it looks like that all the time in lightroom is what i am trying to say)
ill check out bridge tonight though
