My family has a house this big (not in the mountains, on lake in Northern Wisco.) I will agree it's too big when it's just our family but when we have our entire extended family there it's a BLAST and that's why we chose a house that big. The more the merrier... but I see where you're coming from.

No you wouldn't. I think it's a waste. We currently have three vacation homes and I haven't even been to our place in San Diego since we bought it three years ago... I feel like one of those assholes who contributes to all the waste of homes in the U.S. that are occupied three weeks out of the year. (Though it's my parents not me.)

Of course, one's background might affect opinions. If you have experience of living in a house that big, it might not seem like a big deal, but if I can live comfortably (two people) in a 50 sqm flat, having a place like that would make me feel like a bastard.

yup, lets all chip in and timeshare that bitch. Just need 100,000 of us to put up 150 bones. I don't think the gated community would like us though.

Fair enough. I just know from personal experience that most people buy vacation homes for the purpose of their extended family and/or friends joining them on their stays... I have the fondest memories doing that with all my cousins growing up. I couldn't see a single family buying this for the purpose of living there alone. But yeah, each to their own. =)

Our Northern Wisco house is a lot cozier though... so it's big with a small feel.

I love it. It's easily my favorite place in the world. All the big lakes connected you can cruise on the jetskis forever, yet it's still so Northern-Woodslike and uninhabited.

where are we gonna get the other 14 million dollars from?

And that's using a very generous estimate as to how many active ns'ers there are.

I think my parents own like 10 places Let's see

Their home, my appartment, sisters appartment, dad's appartment. appartment in Monaco, summervacation home in france, very modern design chalet in the French Alps, appartment in london, appartment in N-Y, appartment in Moscow.

Together they must be worth 15 million easily.

Family home is fucked up huge, Chalet is ridiculously expensive, monaco is small as tits but retardexpensive.

(my dad uses the appartments in Moscow, london and NY sicne he is a lawyer with international clients.

that looks like the house in chug's season edit last year. when he made a nice dinner and "quit" drinking

it the house is like 4000 sq feet, but the property has soooo many guest houses, fountains, gardens, a tennis court, a pool.

it sold for a little over $40,000,000.

thats an expensive house.

That's not THAT big. I mean, it's way bigger than needed, but at 15 mil, it should be far larger.

I was living in a 3000 sqt loft this summer by myself... once you're used to it, it's not as big.

That was 15million and has 11,500 square feet... I expect more for my money.

itll only cost 150 of us $100,000! totally doable, and we can have an AWESOME life just bunking together and skiing all winter and biking all summer n shit.

i say we do it.

IF WE ALL POOL OUR MONEY WE CAN SPLIT TO BUY IT

AND NAME IT THE NEWSCHOOLERS HOUSE

does anyone remember a while back a thread about newschoolers splitting and buying a town, and calling it newschoolers town?

or did i just dream that
