FOR PINK FLOYD FANS: New David Gilmour Album

That's right, DAvid Gilmour is releasing another solo album sometime I believe in march entitled "On an Island". Basically it's going to be amazing.

His solo stuff is alright, its just a different sound than pink floyd. I'll probably still get it.

Waters is the true heart of floyd (even if he is a dick). The only thing that gilmour still does that is very floydish is uses his patent distortion tones, which sound incredible.

I'm stoked on his new album, but it will be still no where near what the group did as a whole.

Pink Floyd is supposed to play together for one show when Gilmour tours for this album. Except its probably going to be in France, god damn you France!

what a shame, they were politically relevant like u2 right when u2 came out, but they enver got gay and poppie

I'm talking about an on-tour reunion.

That was just a charitable event.

I really really want them to get back together, but it will NEVER happen.

Waters even made a statement that he wants a reunion, but on February 3, 2006 Gilmour gave an interview to the Italian magazine "La Repubblica" which indicated the band would no longer tour or produce any new material.

ORCHESTRA PIT IN CHICAGO, april 12th, cant fucking wait, his new single is alright, you can tell his wife wrote the lyrics, and for the tour Rich Wright is doing it with him and half the show is gonna be David's favorite floyd songs

Barret and The Mad Cap Laughs, Roger Waters has done a few solo albums too, one is something about hitch hiking, i have it on my itunes but im too bored to look it up, just thought id update on all the solo albums sprung from pink floyd

Yeah the internet rumors I heard were a bit off, crazy. This is what i saw yesterday...

"February 23, 2006

Okay, this is starting to get a little strange. David Gilmour insists there will never be another reunion of Pink Floyd's surviving original members, and that he wants to move on. He has a new album and a sold out European tour coming up in March. He'll be joined on stage by Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright.

Meanwhile, Roger Waters will be joined by Floyd drummer Nick Mason to perform 1973's dark side of the moon album in its entirety somewhere in France this summer. Details are to be announced in 2/27/06 webcast."

anyone want to lend me 250$ so i can buy a ticket to the toronto show then report back to this thread on the shows awsomeness?!?

I cant see all of them joining up for an extended tour but I can see them getting together and playing dark side of the moon or something.
