Full disclosure: I have been an NS member for like 6 years. Though this website is ridiculous as fuck, we all love it. I can say it has certainly shaped who I have become (scary i know).

As a self-admitting nerd, lately I have thought it would be really cool to do a study on NS. I have been reading about "public spaces" (where citizens gather to discuss politics, culture, arts, anything). This is such a fresh example of a public space. It would be so cool to really break down the ski culture we are all apart of and which this website is the foundation.

For all you non-nerds, sorry to waste your 20 seconds reading this!
 
um, ok? what exactly are you trying to accomplish here? sure, you waste too much time on this website. so do all of us. i'm confused as to where you're trying to go with this....?...?
 
^ I think it would be interesting to quantify what topics we talk about the most (besides the obvious...skiing)

Basically my friends and I were trying to decide if freeski culture was especially political inclined (i think we are). We tend to listen to certain (good) types of music. We tend to be very liberal. Of COURSE this is not always the case, but I have seen some trends that would be cool to flesh out.
