For how long does your skis hold up?

So, i got a pair of rossignol scratch fs 06-07 december 2007. but, they broke on the sixt day riding them. so i take them to the shop, and they says i can pick any ski in the shop. Ended up with the 4FRNT TNK 07-08, and they were at that time the best ski i've ever skied. Late january this year, the edges started to pop out of the skis.

So, i went shopping again. This time, i ended up with the Salomon Suspects, which is way more durable than most people on NS say. Okey its chipping, but who cares? They still deliver their shit, right?

Today i went shopping agian, so i have an extra pair just in case or if my Suspects does not break im using them next year anyways. 4FRNT STL 08-09 btw.

sparknotes: i seem to break my skis often. do you, and how many times in some seasons?

i break a lot of skis, my park skis dont last a full season but i usually have multiple pairs so its hard to tell how long they hold up. but in 2 seasons i go through about 3+ park skis

my last 2 pairs of skis started to delam or have edges sticking out after a good 2 months of using them. from then on i just duct taped them and hammered in the edges and had them last as long as possible.

skied park for 3 years...2 pairs of 4frnt stls 2 pairs of armada ar6s a pair of line chronics and trashed a pair of line anthems my shop let me demo while i was waiting for my new skis..i owe them 250 and gunna trash my current skis on dry slopes this summer...

I ski usually two times a week in the winter and I am counting on my new Line afterbangs or invaders for next year to hold up for 2 years.

After a season (estimated 60-90 days), the skis are usually still useable, but have extensive topsheet chipping and base scratches, usually 2-4 coreshots of any size, minor edge cracks or small pieces of edge missing, and possibly the bindings have torn out a time or 2. After 2 seasons they are pretty much done for, still probably good for urban though.

my line chronics are holdin up great after two years of shreddin them ... a little chipped on the top but it doesnt really matter

My 04/05 fujatives are still holding up great. Granted, I don't live super close to any mountains and play a bit in the park, but not extensively, but still.... I'm still super happy with them.

Your life sucks. How do you destroy a ski in 16 days? Unless it is a shit suspect, how do you destroy a ski that fast? I get 60 days out of my park skis. I'm really hard on them too.

I got the rage from storm, and they held up really well. 50-60 days hitting kings at pc and freeway at breck. i skied them really hard. and they were a prototype, not the final product. if you havent heard of these check em out

mine last around 2 years, and then after they are good for urban/summer stuff/rock skis

after the first year it's mainly just topsheet scratches, and a coreshot or two

well this is my 3rd year skiing park and so far i have gone through 7 pairs of park skis. I am on my 8th pair but i also haven't skied park since February. but i still have a pair of bents, obsetheds and scratch bc wrs so ive used those on some park days, so what im saying is, i just go through alot of skis

Got a pair of TNK's and I broke then on the 6th run on my first day having them, then I waited 3 weeks to get them back, first run on them about half way down just doing a butter 3 off a little knoll and the whole edge blew out. Wait another 3 weeks and this time they lasted 3 days before i broke them doing a little 5 footer and the edge blew out again. After this they refused to warranty the ski because this company has a very poor customer realizations.
Have prob 15 days on my Scott p4's still working amazingVolkl Gotama prob 100 days on those and still ripping like the day I bought themLine Anthem prob 130 and only a couple edge cracks but still working great
DON'T BUY 4FRNT THEY WILL BREAK AND CAUSE YOU TO HAVE A SAD FACE. : (

My scratch ghetto's lasted the whole season, and they probably have another season in them. My bindings probably do not though.

And this season I got maybe 30-40 days but thats a total guess, I didn't keep track.

how do you kids break so many skis?? jeez.... i've skied 40+ days this year and my tm's are still good. i skied park every day of the season

My skis usually don't last an entire season. My scratches are the first ski to do an entire season without a warrantyable issue. But the edges were knocked out on the 2nd day on them.

When it comes down to it, I simply can't afford to be going through multiple pairs of skis every few seasons, let alone every season. I work hard for my gear and take good care of my stuff. I'm not saying those of you who go through lots don't, so don't get all offended.

1. skier weight and aggression2. early/late season- rocks and exposed patches3. 40 days isn't really that much, I probably have 90 +or- a few days this season including backyard jibbing and hiking the trees on my campus4. if you ski bumps, that puts a lot of stress on skis and chips the topsheet like nothing else.5. bad landings6. spins onto rails, switchups, kinks, etc.are hard on edges

i hit a lot of rails, after about 10 days of rising most of the edge is gone and the edges crack, 15-20 days of riding and I'll have no edge at all.

this season I had the tail of my watch lifes explode and since I was broke I bought some scarface t halls from my shop for 210, rockered the tips on those after 5 days sent them back and got some brand new ar6s, cant say thats a bad deal 08/09 ar6 for 210 brand new ha

besides that ive broken a pair of jesters and my bacons are just about to loose a foot of edge and the base is seperating from the rest of the ski

my skis usually make it fine through a season, i don't ski a ton of park thopow skis last me several seasons, i made it through a season without doing anything to my pow skis, i even landed directly on a rock off a 10 footer but for some reason all i got was a surface scratch

I have now idea how you guys go through so many skis. My armada arv's have been fine and i've skied on them for like 80 days.
