For girls with long hair, face mask concept idea.

Hey fellow Pink Namez!

So I have had this concept in my head for a few seasons now and would love some input!

So I, and a lot of you who have long hair, all know how annoying hair can be while skiing and trying to keep that shit tame. I think every season I'm trying to figure out how to make the long hair and the face mask set up work. So right now, I usually have a long side braid and then I tuck it through the face mask so that I can pull the mask up behind my head to keep it up and put the goggles over it. Then the braid is hanging out the bottom of my mask, which is frustrating because then the mask doesn't stay tucked down and my neck gets cold AF. I think this is a fairly common set up among us gals.

So heres the concept. What if there was a face mask (face tube) whatever you call them, and they just had a simple hole in them? You could wear it off to the side and pull your braid through it or you could wear it high up if you're into the ponytail thing. I just hate that the bottom of my face mask doesn't stay tucked down because cold necks suck.

Does this sound like something that could work or that yourselves would purchase and use? Does it sound lame?

And if this does have enough interest, how the fur does one go about starting this shit up?

Thanks gals. Let me know what ya think!

I generally just put my hair in a bun at the base of my neck. I absolutely hate having hair around my face while skiing but I haven't had any issues so far.

if my hair is long enough (which it wasn't last season) I do two fishtails and tuck them inder my face mask. It seems to work for me.

I have tried this as well And I couldn't do it. It made a huge lump in the back and was uncomfortable. I also have really, really think hair. Its a mop. It swallows my bobby pins and I find them 2 days later.

My friend and I literally were talking about this the other day skiing and came up with pretty much the same idea hah!. I was thinking about just taking one of my neck tubes, cutting a hole in it, and then like reinforcing with some other material around it.

I also braid my hair to the side and this is a like every day problem, along with some gnarly little dreads so I feel your pain. Definitely planning on trying to experiment with that idea this winter!

I would love to see a photo or sketch of what you want to do! I usually just put my neck gator over my hair and it always stays down in the back which is crucial. pictured on the right

Sounds like were legit thinking the same exact thing! I got brave and cut a hole in one of my tubes today and I was pretty stoked on it. It would deff need fabric sewn around it though since they're made fairly cheaply. Ill work on that tomorrow and get a pic posted.

Super Stoked to see others thinking of the same thing and giving input!

I've cut a hole in several of my face masks, and especially for my balaklava it's been super helpful! Usually if I tuck my side braid in it looks like I have a neck tumor...or down the back gets itchy cause I sweat like crazy skiing... :)

oh me too haha. mine basically starts turning into natural dreads or an afro and i physically can't brush it unless it's wet in the shower with a ton of conditioner. i used to do the braid thing but it always annoyed me so much that i got so frustrated

When you cut a hole in yours, do they fray really bad? Ive only done it with one as an expirament But I'm nervous to cut my Phunkshun ones because they're more expensive and my favorites haha.

I feel ya! I cut a hole in a couple and it frays a little, but not even close to affecting the mask so far. The main thing is the fabric. If it's thin but really strong, densely woven material it should be fine. :) Another thing you could do if you're not like me (lazy and don't have a sewing machine), you could sew some stitching around the hole to be sure.

Haha I am lazy also, but still sewed it. I took one of those wide hair tie things that are all the rage right now, Idk what they're actually called, but the ones that are like fabric and they have the knot tied in them so they're all stylish and whatnot and thats what I used to sew around the hole I cut!

Found the perfect thing. It's so hot right now.

My friends and Fam keep telling me to patent this and get on it. But lacking the monies haha

I just saw this thread and I always braid my hair to the side so I have the same issue! I think it would be an awesome idea because I'm always fooling with my face mask and it always just ends up down around my neck... Have you looked at Kickstarter? That could be an option

Ohh shiiii I never even thought of kickstarter. Has anyone used the site before and have advice if I went that route? Anything business related is pretty out of my league haha
