For dagmar kids....

HELMETS AND PARK PASSES FOR ALL! this is my word. suck it up it will be better in the end.

It's not really me saying this, it's the General Manager, it makes sense if you're looking at it from a liability point of view. not that I like helmets or park passes, but I DO like big jumps and nice rails, so I'll go along with it. But nothing is set so we'll see.
 
HELMETS AND PARK PASSES THATS CRAZYYYY!!!!!. well the park pass is a wicked good idea and the helmets well i dont see the problem some of you will some wont but if you haev a park pass whats the point of making helmets manatory. well who am i to say what goes and what dosnet. lol and yea good old beavs shitty work on the boxes eh yea well thats tells you how much they wanted to spend on the park last year. so i take it matt your grinding some metal which would be awsome for once. but matt if the new owners what some pics for there new site just let me know and ill hook them up
 
park pass seems like a god idea....but everyone who goes to dagmar hits the park, and most of them (idiots or us) only hit the park. so it'll be interesting to see...i bet every person (apart from the school trips and those who love shredding dagmars super-dooper black diamonds)will buy one...but who cares ill do whatever it takes to ski somewhere decent in Ontario

 
yeh i hate to say it but the park pass system sounds kind of good...

good beacsue it will flush out alot of stray little kids chillin on table trannies....

bad(for dagmar) becasue i think they will lose business becasue of it...

but i think as a whole it is a good idea and will be a positive asset to dagmar...maybe even making have some credit as being a descent hill with a badass park...maybe...

but i had a savy idear about a nice and long flat down box....like twice as long as last years with half the steepness....not to long of a flat so that is was easily disasterable/switch up, etc....just throwin it out there.
 
park passes will block all the chinese people in long ass fur coats on classic skis with no hats on! wwoooot
 
hahaha yea everyone was thinking that you got ap and said it... that is the #1 reason to get park passes....or just put a bunch of pylons tight together at the top of the park....the chinese skiers ive seen can't (or refuse to)turn
 
yeah i think park passes is a good idea and u could use the money from the passes to put back into the park and help keep things in good shape and have some money to add new features
 
for myself i love hearing this park pass and helmet thing. i ride with a helmet anyways so it jsut keeps the gapers outta the park, and for park passes, well, that also keeps the gapers out of hte park.

i think some buisness will be lost, but hey, that doesnt effect me at all.

every year, same thing.....

everyone that skis at dagmar gets all excited cause its september and skiing is only 4 months away still.

everyone starts talking about the park and how great its gonna be and how they know last year sucked but this years gonna be so much better and dagmars getting this and this, and they have new management, and theirs a new park builder and new this and new that and bla bla bla.

everyone starts throwing out their ideas for a park layout with all these awesome rad wicked jumps and rails...... that dagmar dosnt have.

but sure enough on opening day, i go to dagmar, expect big things in the park, just to find its the exact fucking same as last year, and the year before, and the year before.

honestly, WTF is a kinky hippo? what idiot welder mangled that rail with perfectly good down flat down potential.

shall i even comment on the down verticle box? (down flat for you unsarcastic peeps).

now i know im coming off as negative but please exscuess my frustration built up from years of dagmar let downs and false promises, i will however end on a positive and make a suggestion on what i think could improve dagmar greatly.

suggestion number 1 - give up. no rails, no jumps, nobody to make good rails, nobody to make good jumps = one big shitty "park" with a trench running down the middle of it which sort of resembles one of those stunt ditch things i saw them snowboard kids in one time (half pipe for the slow and unsarcastic again).

suggestion number 2 - BLUE MOUNTAIN, 2 hour drive, but the memberships are $150 (not $500), and the park is off the meat rack.

But hey this year at dagmar it is all new so its going to be a get suprise like at christmas. And now since im in barrie we can ride blue and louie ( which is better id say). So as i leave I would like to say DAGMAR?
 
oh yes i am not saying that there will not be changes but lets not forget this exact time last season..."park pass system, wall, s-box"...all i am saying is...as mark pointed out...that dagmar is (or was...maybe) full of false promises and i dont think i can beleive all these changes that are going to take place until i actually SEE it. i know that matt is gunnin for us; more for a dope park, but just like that things can change. So i will just say what i could like to see if anything WAS to change...(which i am sure something will change, if only it is the layout or something)

i am hoping that dagmar is going to be what we have been waiting for for the last few seasons but i have that feeling that it is either going to be dope. Or motherfucking horrible like it was for alot of last season...they DO, afterall, have new ownership so we will see what these zookeepers bring to the table.
 
twatever boys... I'm just using this as a place do get Ideas. I dont care if you think things are going to happen or what... I AM the Park Manager at Dagmar, I AM a skier and I AM going to make it a much better place to ride. I actually have a budget to work with so it's real... regardless I'll have a good time building a variety of new features, I will update you when I have some more news. It'll be fun.

i see where mark is comming from, and i also see where matt is comming from.

so i say it counter balances (shitty as usual with building cool new things) will end up a bit better park as before..

so as i said before, time will tell.
 
he does have a good point.. every year we do have these talks and get all excited about how sweet the park is going to be.. but i really think this year is going to be different because this time it just not some small changes happening at dagmar but EVERYTHING is going to be new.. and i have high hopes for the new management/owner and for our new park builder and i think this year might make up for all the past years at dagmar
 
lots of things in the works, I'm finished my current job on the 14th so I'll get started building right away... down flat down and fdf rails are going on for sure, other flat rails and boxes, and a giant whale, or rainbow box, or both... I'll update soon, I'm meeting with the welding guy this weekend.

 
a friend of mine (snowboarder) told mne that he heard from a guy whose brother was banging this gurls ssister that dagmar was gonna have a park with features "sponsored" by a snowboard company (i guess meaning the company forks over the cash for new features with their logo on it)

any truth??

Met with the welding/fabrication shop today, gave them designs and plans for the following things, try not to shit yourselves.

1.)35ft urban style down rail (round tubing 1 barrel 4inch)

2) Flat down Flat 10-15-10', 15 degree kink....2 x4 inch rectangular tubing

3) Down Flat Down 15-10-15', 15 degree kink, 2x4 rec. tubing

4) 3- 10 foot flat boxes

5) A-Frame box 15ft up 15ft down

6) Rainbow box....45ft arc. 2feet wide I think it was... 10 feet high

7) Whale box....idea poached from MSLM haha.... giant. that's all I'll say about that one.

Now I'm waiting for them to do it up on Autocad, and get back with costs... if it's too much might have to cut some things, but hopefully that is not that case.

* all the boxes will be steel covered not plastic... it will just be way the fuck more durable and no screws to pop up and fuck up your bases.

that's my update as of right now... maybe see you at the ski show in the AM tomorrow

sounds DOPE.

only thing i am kind of iffy on is the metal covered boxes...i have only hit 1 metal covered box and it was decent so i guess i have no real reason to bitch...makes sense to cut down the screws and shit. GREAT JOB MATT!!!! THANKS FOR ALL THE HARD WORK!!!

cant wait to hit all this shit up on my new skiskis!!!

 
I hate metal topped boxes. Feels like im grind the shit outta mt bases/edges everytime i slide it.
 
ya i feel the same way, i rode some at big white last year, and it sounded like death to my bases/edges lol
 
i would take those 3 flat boxes and turn them into a massive down flat down.

having one box one and one rail one would be sick.

plus straight up flat boxes are gay, and dagmar already made one lastyear.

and if cost is too much, scrap the whale box, its cool, but not as cool as some actual good rails at dagmar for once.

ps - 15 degree kinks on all rails is puuuuuuuuurfect.

now just dont make them too tall and i might actually have to congratulate someone for doing something right.
