i learned backflips in the mini park off a 10 ft jump...i didnt tuck and would recommend you dont either...you cant spot your landing nearly as well and it doesnt look at good in the future when you do start stomping them...do a few on the ground, tramp, or anywhere else without consequence....sack up on the mountain and send 'er
I tuck...
Find a jump....speedcheck it. If you don't want to have to really huck it....a 25 footer is perfect. Commit to the backflip before you hit the jump.
Drop in...tell yourself "I'm going to backflip." This will get you in the mentality for throwing it and make sure you don't bail on it halfway through. Pop off the lip, go with the momentum of the kicker while throwing your head back. Then tuck...enjoy the ride, spot your landing...and STOMP.
im pretty sure this has been gone over with in a frontflip or backflip thread or in a how to flip thread. i hear the search bar helps solve the clutter of new threads that have already been answered. and i lay mine out
really know your speed for the jump, you dont want to over shoot or knuckle, and make sure to give a good pop instead of just flinging yourself back, commit, then spot your landing as best you can, which probably means more layed out.
