Joey Barton's a fantastic player. One of the best all around midfielders out there. Great tackler... Even when he was at City I thought he was a great player...

His temperment and the way the media portrays him makes him seem like a total douche though. He mostly seems past that though.

Just to show how he's a gamer... he gave Pardew his full commitment to the team, and delivered a really spirited showing today. I was satisfied.
 
I really hope he stays with NUFC...

I would hate to lose anyone else at this point...

I really hope we can nail a good striker by the end of the transfer period... we need one bad.

So i pulled out 12 pts today, first half on matches, and i am pretty happy, i have one injured player but that is all.
 
I've managed 30 so far and I'm unhappy. Damn yellow cards chipped away at my total, and Rodallega came only played 38 minutes and got me 1 point, I should have put Simpson on who would have got me 6.

No matter how many points I get it still pisses me off when Chelsea tie/lose. God damn Stoke with their stupid throw-ins taking 20 hours and just hoofin the ball out, damn team plays for ties every game.
 
Can you blame them for the most part though? They usually can't seem to keep possession against most anyone, much less a Chelsea...
 
Good point I guess not. Still a disappointing performance by Chelsea though, shoulda put one in or had a penalty but that may be my biased mind speaking. Torres played well though man of the match.
 
Yeah Torres was actually playing heads up and making good runs. Stingy defensive play by Stoke to keep him from terrorizing the goal.
 
what is a good score for one week in this? i have no idea how im doing and they dont update the points to show how everyone else is doing
 
Yeah I should have mentioned.

I'd say a decent score to have a chance to win this league would be on average maybe 40 points a week.

They update the points after every game so you can see who got you points and make updates etc.

They give the bonuses to players (man of the match=3, 2nd best=2, 3rd best=1) for each game the same day they update the leader boards for all the leagues so your points are officially updated, which is the Monday morning (if the games are played on the weekend), or the morning after (if the games are played during the week).

Some tips if you not getting enough points:

-Choose defenders and goalkeepers who you know have a high chance of getting a clean sheet, that way you get a solid 4-6 points from them.

-A lot of people forget about the Captaincy. Choose a Captain that is almost guaranteed to get you a decent amount of points. (Goalie if you expect a lot of shots and saves, Defender if you think the opposition won't score, Striker if they're playing a weak team, Midfielder usually if none of them apply).

-Look at the fixtures and adjust your formation accordingly. If the majority of your defense have hard fixtures, play 3 at the back, etc.

-You have 2 wild-cards if you team is completely awful. This lets you re-do the whole team or whoever you may choose without the cost of points. 1 is strictly for the January tranfer window though I believe so use them wisely.
 
Impressive, I'm still waiting for Man City to play I have 3 starters from City.

And yeah I rarely ever transfer I'm usually satisfied until January (unless injuries), that was just for those who are having a little bit of trouble.
 
LOL Man Shitty haven't even played yet? I've got Hart, Clichy and Kompany, with their negative tactics and midfielders like Yaya and De Jong they're a guaranteed defensive point haul.

To be honest though the least points I get the better, my team is filled with players from Chelsea's title challengers.
 
Yeah that's what I tried to avoid so I don't have any United players, and only 1 from Liverpool and Arsenal. That way I can root for them to lose and not have to worry about losing points ahah.
 
The league should update tomorrow and we should see who is King. Aguero look unreal today too bad I didn't have him in my squad.
 
had him in my ESPN fantasy squad. 56 in ESPN, but only39 in the NSFL.

Does anyone know if Song if suspended or what?
 
46 points, rooney as captain was clutch. sucks ferdinand got injured, had to waste my free transfer on him.
 
i came out with 59 this week thanks to man city getting a clean sheet, and i forgot my captains score was doubled so im pumped with my score this week
 
where can i find the rules for scoring? this is my first year doing this so i have no clue what gets points
