Foot Pain

Around the end of last season, I went to a boot fitter to get fitted. After trying on a few pairs I settled on Full Tilt Tom Wallischs. They were great through the end of last season, but now they are starting to hurt real bad. I feel like it could be a circulation issue, because every time I take off my boots the outside of my feet feel numb, and hurt to walk on. The pain starts to kick in after having constant pressure for about 30 mins (ie hicking up and down my setup or towing rope). I've tried keeping the buckles as loose as possible, but I still have pain. I know the answer is probably to get orthotics, but 1, I don't think I have enough room in the boot (it's already rather snug), and 2, I don't have the money now. Also I am a size 9.5 shoe, I wear a 26.5 boot

Basically, after wearing my boots for 30+ minutes, they start to hurt on the outsides of my feet.

+k for good answers

Sounds as though your foot is pronating inside te boot which is causing your foot to press against the out side of the shell. Constant pressure here can lead I numbness which can eventually last some time even after taking the boots off. You need to get your feet into a neutral position and in afraid the only way to do that is with a custom footbed. Don't worry about it taking up room to much a it will actually make your foot smaller and once you have it mded into te liner you shoul infact find there is more room inside the boots.

You may also need a stretch down the lateral side of the shell but never get this done until you get a footbed. If you stretch without first surportung the foot you may find no improvement as the foot just pronatrd further into the extra space.

+k. could i possibly adjust my cant so I have more pressure on the balls of my feet and less pressure on the out sides? or do I need custom foot beds?

Chanting only works to adjust your cuff it will have no effect on the foot unfortunately just the leg.

The only effective way of sorting out your issue is with a footbed, but every skier should have a footbed any way. You can't really have a boot fitted until you get one so until you get one you have not got fitted boots. Spend a couple of hundred bucks and it makes a huge difference both to the comfort and performance of the boots.
