I guys I'm just wondering if its possible to know where powder storm are hitting. Like a website or something because I got a crazy schedul for this winter, I am gonna be on a 2 week on 2week off schedul an I would like to check at a site or a forum to know where is the powder befor the end of my work trip and then fly their for my day off.

Or we can create a "Its gonna dump a bunch of snow this week in _____________" tread

The best advice I can give you is to educate yourself on meteorology and have some understanding of how storms come together and the ingredients necessary. From there you can glean information from NWS forecast discussions and make educated decisions off that.

All said though, weather is a fickle beast and you can expect to get skunked plenty.

If you want to know what ski areas got a lot recently, onthesnow is a great resource, and of course you can check individual ski area websites for predicted snowfall. To find a general prediction in advance your best bet would probably be weather sites. Look at a map of the US with the color coded storm areas then look up the forecasts of all the ski areas that look to be in the path of the biggest storms. It would be cool if there was an easier way, a site that blatantly said what ski areas are going to get snow soon, but I don't think that exists.
