Foils vs. Seths

Want an all mountain ski..

Ski 50/50 (park/all mountain, powder)

was leaning towards the foils but the edges looked super skinny and the foam core worrys me

but how will the seths perform in the park and how are the seths in terms of flexx?

The one thing I can tell you is that the Seth is going to be a bit closer to a pow ski that goes in the park, the Foils a park ski that goes in the pow. I guess its all about which are you want better performance in. I'd take the Seths though, supposed to be a sick one ski quiver, and I bet they would kill it in the park better than a Foil would kill it in deep pow.

your comparing 2 totally different skis.. seth is more powder/big mountain where as the foil is more of a park ski

i know they are pretty differnt skis

the thing that worrys me on the foil is that the edge is very skinny compared to almost any other ski.. basically what im looking for is the more durrable of the two and which ski is going to be the best all around

the foils dimensions are more similar to a park ski, while seth is a wide pow/big mtn ski. so this isnt the best comparison to try to make.

I would like Foils more if the center of the sidecut was farther up the ski; its like a foot on front of the tail!

get Seths, K2 makes the most bombproof skis ever and they will be WAY more versitale.

Same situation here CG, I'm convinced with the Seths being the best option for you (and me), I've also been looking and trying the troublemaker and big trouble, but they can't stand up to the seth, and next year seths have a sweet base, I would just buy them for that!

They are supposodly a bit stiffer in the front then the 06-07's

I have skiied both and heres my 2 cents.

The foils are sick very poppy and lively, a little narrow, but still provide decent float. if u are gonna be goin HUGE in the park i would def reccomend the Seths though because you may kill the foam, i had no problems with them but i have heard that other people do. The seths are also an extremely versatile ski, but i found them to be slightly less lively than the foils. also they are definitely heavier. however i dont think you can really go wrong with either ski. if you want slightly better all mountain go with the seth if you want a slightly lighter better in the park ski go with the foil

where did you have the seths mounted.. thats my next question

i looked it up but some of the stuff said was super confusing...

umm i think they were at the standard mounting point, and i would definitely have had them mounted farther forward if i had them as my skis and not demos. i would say not quite core center, because youll lose alot of float, but like +2 or so would be sick and they would probably handle better in the park. plus at 5 10 i would assume you would get the 179 and mounting them farther forward would make them ski a little shorter too.
