Flylow pattern change?

Was at Sports Basement yesterday hunting for sales and tried on a bunch of new Flylow pants/bibs. The mediums were laughably small - couldn't even get them past my thighs. The larges were fine in the waist but too tight when I'd try to bend my knees. The XLs were okay from a movement perspective but I'd def need a belt for the waist. I'm not steezy enough for XXLs so didn't waste time trying them on.

Then I happened to look back in the consignment section and found a pair of Flylow ski pants from 2016 that looked good - tried them on and the fit was perfect! The waist was 33" on the money, the fit was loose/slightly baggy, and articulation was excellent when bending my knees/squatting. The size? Medium.

So what's going on here? It's crazy that a company would change their pattern that significantly, but it seems like Flylow has either switched suppliers or patterns. Does anyone know if this is common, and what would drive a brand to switch up their sizing so dramatically?

I love sports basement. I wish they had a similar store in Vancouver.

Were you trying on the same style pants? I know they make a few different fits. I hope they don't change the baker bib.

When I made this post I thought were all the same style of pants (Chemical Pant) according to the tags, but looking at the thrifted pants I got I think they may have mislabeled it. From a search on Youtube it appears that they are actually the Compound pants instead? Looks like the fabric is eVent, which I don't think the Chemical pants ever used. Could certainly explain the difference in fit!

My experience was the sizing at Flylow did change a bit from year to year

Bought some medium tall Chemical pants ~4 years ago that fit perfectly. ~2 years ago I wanted another color Chemical pants and ordered medium tall. The newer version of medium tall was too small in the waist and didn't fit. Ordered large tall and those were slightly bigger than the ~4 year old medium tall, kept the large tall

Also bought a medium shirt that fit great. The following year I wanted another color of the same shirt and bought a medium, too small. Ordered a large and that fit well

I stopped growing years ago and didn't get taller, and I didn't gain weight. The sizing was slightly different
